Can you recommend a safe place to get a watcher from ?
Sorry, I didn't ever download it ...

Thanks for the quick response ;-)

Anyone using any watcher software out there ?

I use http://www.awesomeminer.com/ and I love it.  For the Kachir miner I just create a Rule that whenever the miner drops below 50 degrees C that it restart the miner.  Works every time.  That is just one customizable feature.  Remote control is super.

Cheers for link - Installed and running like a dream.

Still selling my Hawaii binary for myr-groestl.

Here the specs for your reference:

Optimised kernel: myriad-groestl (myr-groestl, groestl512 + sha256) for digibyte, myriad, saffroncoin, joincoin, trinity and others.
Speed: 63 Mh/s on r9 290x @1100/150. It is compatible with stock sgminer and includes free future upgrades.

PM for details.

Oh, i thought you were an opensource kind of guy. Guess I miss-read that.  Grin

Supporting opensource doesn't mean all my work must be open. I've spent al lot of time (and I mean thousands of hours) on opensource, supporting linux (since kernel version 0.99), etc.
Oh well I shouldn't need to explain anything!

I can has? Full disclosure: I intend to disassemble it. But I won't make any results public.

Funny question: Wolf0, how old are you?

So what would be the recommended PSU wattage for two Sapphire Radeon HD 7970s? I'm guessing around 750w-860w?

750 should be enough, but still...850 and above to be 100% Smiley

Anyone using any watcher software out there ?

Specific, but related: NiceHash Miner is acting as the watcher as well. It will make sure your GPU doesn't go too hot and will restart mining in case sgminer/ccminer is hanged/idling.

it depends on the cpu but should be enough.

Got 2 390X's running on a system with an I7, 32GB ram with a 750W PSU. No issues Smiley

But if i would heavily OC them both, max them out. That would be a different story  Shocked

out of curiosity what is a "watcher" ?

WATCHDOG--

A program that monitors another program and reboots the watched program when it is detected as hung, or idle too long.  In a DOS system, it would reboot the computer and let the AUTOEXEC.BAT file restart the watched program and itself on reboot.       --scryptr

Hi Guys,

Finally got some time to test the optimised miner from NiceHash and I upgrade my AMD driver.
At the moment I am having issues with waiting for work from pool.  So I have increased the queue size to reduce this problem.
Also the miner is completely hanging after a few hours or so.
Any suggestions to get things more stable ?

It is a known problem with highly optimized kachur miners. Only solution is to use special software that restarts miner after some idle time, e.g. sgwatcher. Other solutions based on playing with options seems not to give 100% guarantee ...

I thought that may be the case as I used to take the same approach last year.  Can you recommend a safe place to get a watcher from ?
