Why would anyone will be willing to buy this low  satoshi coin when it does not move much. You might get 10-20% profit from it in the entire alt season while investing in some NFT, Defi or BSC project can give you 100x returns in the same time frame.

The low satoshi coins are performing very well these days and siacoin is not different at all. A few days back the price of siacoin was only 20 sats while today its price is 41 sats. So its almost doubled our money if we have invested in it two months earlier.

I was about to post the same, after the yesterdays move, siacoin made quite serious entry and showed everyone that this is not a dead project. It might not the be most pumped coin but those that are quickly  pumped go after that quickly dumped too. We hit the bottom at 10 sats and bounced. It will bounce more if we break the 64-65 sat resistance then it will go further more, probably to 180 sats. In alt season everything is possible. Same applies for Verge... pumped the same time as the sia and it was nice.

I've looked through the above thread again, seems I'm going to 'eat crow' on what I've been saying about Siacoin and Sia-Tech. (Tastes like Chicken!)

Anyway, can someone catch me up on 'why' this is pumping? I seem to remember back about 1 year ago Siacoin was around 40 sats ...which I think it is now...

so is it 'simply a matter of BTC/Crypto price rises and Siacoin ..simply 'maintaining' at the same BTC sat kinda number?

Or can people point me to a thread or explain here...how 'exactly' you can setup a NODE and/or any other stuff via their decentralized network I'm

behind on with the project. I still don't think that you can build a Siacoin storage node with even used parts and make enough to cover such.

So anyway, enlighten me! Smiley

I guess you are referring to the setting up of Host Managers. There's a lot info to find on Internet about it like for instance this guide by the official Siacoin Medium account found here: https://medium.com/sia-central-blog/hosting-with-sia-host-manager-from-0-to-100-62e8eef1ae2a
I'm not so much into the project but I keep finding interesting aspects of it. There's a good potential as Siacoin is the first p2p decentralized storage project ever created.

Eventually everything pumps on Binance and if they get listed on Coinbase there's a chance to go above 45 sat. but I don't see a way to recover back to the ATH at 219 sat. from 2017 but in those crazy times you don't really know what will happen.
HEre's the road map, it's not really exiting but I see some work is done in the background. They had a fork like a few weeks ago for upgrading the network efficiency. It's not a project to invest in a long term, but catching the pumps it's interesting, and it's one of the lowest price coins on Binance, that's why there's also some volume.

According to coingecko, ATH was 743 sats

Also consider the dollar price because bitcoin was not so expensive at that time as it is now.

On Binance, Siacoin is traded in Spot or Leverage trades. The max leverage for Siacoin is 5x. With leverages, tiny coins are pumped by news, policies, platform upgrades or funny tweets. Dogecoin was pumped and Siacoin can be pumped. Do you recall the funny Dogecoin was pumped from 22 satoshi to 260 satoshi in 2 days. Dogecoin and Siacoin have 5x leverage on Binance.

When Siacoin pumps, I consider 2 prices: 60 satoshi and 110 satoshi. I don't think of higher price but with leverage and liquidation, everything is possible.

I agree that trades and investments are different.

thread need to be closed... RIP siacoin is DEAD. dont hope for any pump... USELESS and DEAD

in 6 years nothing was done, no ledger wallet nothing.. skynet is a TRAP... IT was a good marketing pump when it started, but this coin is worst than shit

USELESS

MAYBE IF you stop talking a hidden whale will pump this shitcoin to get some attention

Even with no further progress this coin is still at #104 at coinmarketcap. I know people are stuck in this coin since 2017 and still holding for it to grow. Its better if we sell this shit coin in loss and buy some useful coins which have better use case and are growling at a rapid pace.
Anyone still mining this coin  Huh

Whales dont exist anymore. Exchanges themselves are owners of these pumps. SC got some dapper volume on binance, I dont think I would write it off as utter litter. Binance does pump all coins listed but it does it thirdhand: first bitcoin then ethereum then top 50 then despicable shitcoins. I have no doubt shitcoin whales dont have part in this rather asinine spectacle. Looking at POLY I would say any shitcoin has equal odds of being uplifted but that depends on the market maker or whoever is in thrall of the pumping action.

to my knowledge, no Siacoin has ever been burned.....source?

not a slam...but burning coins vs not burning coins in usage would make a big difference in viewpoint

brad

https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/8te2e4/when_coin_burn_every_day_and_400_000_sc_so_far/

so 2 years ago? and only  Overall, 393 000 SC...supposedly burned? If SC was being burned due to the use of the Skynet network we'd be hearing a lot

more about this..as is nada...which I assume is how the coins are 'supposed' to be burned as the Skynet network becomes stable with more equip nodes

for decentralized storage..which makes no sense now for equip vs elec vs not even break even to run such...

so I ASSUME that SC burning only happens (if indeed it is still happening) on the sia-tech storage setup usage which is still in beta?

So until you can actually BUILD a sia-tech node for the process of decentralized storage, even at break-even and 'used' equipment

well ..the project is still sitting around without any real storage progress in comparison to the amount of Siacoin and mining in the world.

Seems amateur  hour for years...just saying

So none of any of this relates to the realistic price at 1.5 billion SC made per year and the amount out in the world now...not to mention the

over-abundance of mining equipment and network ...for a Skynet network that has, in comparison of these to parts, little use.

You want to impress me ...get some nodes out there for storage that a person can afford to make and at least break even on

right now it seems sia-tech has made a 3 legged stool with only 2 legs. Seems 'wobbly' for the price of siacoin and that seems to be on FOMO

on stuff that does not seem to be coming into play any time soon. ;(

I wonder if wallstreetbets crew just decided to jump on Sia, this coin is starting to surge like a space ship getting ready to launch Grin

I just hope not a pump and dump Sad.

Take the amount of Siacoin in the world (see www.coinmarketcap.com) at $0.008763 times the amount of the coin in existence, 46,971,862,992 SC, mined so far,

that comes out to $411,614,435.40 ..now ask yourself the question. Are Sia-Tech and Sia-Coin worth that amount of $$$ with their decentralized

network not fully up to snuff yet? I think not, it is gonna dump, just a matter of when.

Brad

I also think the same and i have cashed out my sia coins for btc which i have hold for few years. Recently the price spiked because of the hard fork news and i thought this is the best time to sell these useless coins. However i did lose a lot of bitcoins but still i gained good amount of USDT. The huge supply is a big hinderance for this coin to pump.

They're meant to be burned through usage, so I think low network usage is bigger obstacle than big amount of coins

These shitcoins only exist as a facade for the technological progress. Even after 10 years (2009 - now) of being around, none of CMC coins including bitcoin can be utilized as a store of value. Pump & Dump, period. Peddlers are gonna scarf their mouths to bullhorns with which they purvey their technology. These networks and dumbworks aint doing shit, just sucking in noobs through periodic bullruns.
