Sad to see a such good coin so doomed...

Sad to see all these vultures waiting over Sia like a prey about to die.

Sorry, Sia is not dying any time soon. If you have followed the development of Sia in any capacity, then you would not say "doomed". Instead, you would pick up the coin at what is a low-point.

Sia isnt a "coin". The "coin" is just a part of the protocol to ensure participants have a way to pay each other. The value of the Siacoin does not reflect the status, quality or future of the Sia network.

But the fact you point out the "coin (is) so doomed" just proves you know nothing.

And the picture above of a drunk santa is almost funny. If only it would say "Dumb Sia speculator" instead of "Sia investor"...

+1
SIA is one of the  very  few alts with real world application, and thus demand. Crypto speculators have such a low attention span, it still might be 1-2 years away before mass adoption of decentralised storage, but it's so obviously coming, and SIA has a working platform TODAY

The Sia team would like to organize a contest or hackathon to get more developers start building on the Sia platform. They're collecting ideas on how such an event could look like. Read about it and comment here:

Appreciate you keeping the btctalk community informed on all the latest and greatest Sia news and development progress!  Thanks @betaboot Wink

Presumably, this won't apply iro SIA, there being no 'telecommunications operator'  (or at least, no identifiable telecomm operator) on whom the government can serve a 'technical capability notice'. Correct?

is there a way to use wildcards with the SIA renter? I have uploaded some files with foreign characters in the filename and cannot delete them anymore

I have asked the devs on Slack, let's wait for their answer...
Can't you just copy the filename from the file-list and insert it into the command?

I tried it (and a lot of other work arounds) and was not successful  Sad

An answer from the devs: It is not (yet) possible to use wildcards in the CLI but it should be possible to select and delete the files in the UI. In the UI it is also possible to select a range of files with Shift+Click.

if I try it I get a "Sia-UI Files Error - no file known with that path"

maybe I just let the files where they are and ignore them (in hope that * and ? wildcards will be available sometime)

@betaboot  thank you for the effort Wink

For future reference, what foreign characters are a problem?  Can they be reproduced here?

yes sure - the charcter are these:  ä ü ö

you may find them here:     https://www.lsa.umich.edu/german/hmr/schreiben/umlaute/umlaute_ASCII_html.html
After restard windows click F8 how much you can to open safe mode.

Valerian77: What version of the Sia client do you use? Deleting files with special characters has only been supported in recent versions. I would suggest upgrading to 1.0.4 and try again.
