I have a couple of questions about mining sia. If I leave my wallet on and mining, will it reset itself and start actually mining real coin once the coin goes live? Or do I have to download a different version, clear something from the cache, delete the .dat file, be there at the right time or something else to get it to work?

I think you need to download a different version. Testnet's blockchain is different from the one in the real production.

Also, where do I find a GPU mining build that I can just download and run? How about a pool? You know, the normal stuff people use to mine crypto.

Thanks.

What mining algorithm does siacoin use?

On the OP -
Quote
Sia's hashing algorithm is blake2b. p2pool and multisig wallets are both supported on Sia.

is it a fork of boolberry with a different algo just or am ı understanding wrong ?

Why do you think that?

"The foundation of Sia is a proof of work blockchain"

this is in the explanation so i've asked

Why does "proof of work blockchain" makes you think of boolberry first? :-D

got the mac wallet running, seems I had the old version running still  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

to clarify this is still beta, I have some siacoins claimed, but not yet showing. how will that all work?

thanks

maybe you just need to wait for enough confirmations... how many blocks ago did you get your coins?

I exchanged my NXT assets for Sia coins over a week ago. I got the address and confirmation. I'm in the list. How do I set up my mac wallet to connect to that address?

Whats the total coin supply expected?
1.5 % inflation per year with the current system, but be aware that faircoin is fairly centralized toward faircoop and this could change anytime if they deem it necessary.

Cool thanks for the quick reply. Smiley

Opps wrong topic sorry. IDK the answer.

Please someone make a build for Win7 x64, I'll check it on R9 290 GPU and report the results.

new Mac client installed, just sitting there, won't let me click out of overview

is it syncing? a status marker would be nice

We don't have good error reporting for this yet, but if you can't click out of overview it means that 'siad' is not running, and the UI is trying to talk to a service that doesn't exist. I believe that 'siad' will exit if you don't have an internet connection when you first start running it. It's definitely not syncing if you can't click out of overview.

When I run command line, I get this

Code:
; exit;
listen tcp :9981: bind: address already in use
logout

[Process completed]

I'm also running NXT, thats it
