It says 0 under staking :-( maybe I have to wait longer or something? I'll update you tomorrow. Thanks for the help btw!

Staking works like a lottery, the principle is the same with every PoS coin.

There is a minimum time that the coins need to be in your wallet, in this case 24hrs.
After that your weight will become important, that means the qty of coins that have the right to receive PoS. If your weight is one of the highest on that moment then there is a possibilty that you receive your PoS if there is no other with that same weight. That is why you get orphans sometimes. You don't need to worry with orphans, you will see that your wallet will receive an other stake (a little bit higher) for that orphand stake.

And again no news is coming for 1 hour and people start dumping. Marvelous! Panic everywhere. But thanks I will have to buy your cheap coins again for 6K  Cool

Stupidity and impatience dominates in cryptoworld

SMAC is great opportunity to get some extra profit, but dumping blinds coin owners eys.

Many people must stay at home, not buy/sell what you do not know what it is!

24hrs is the minimum amount of time that is required for coins to be eligible for staking.

Thank you devs for the updates!!! Smiley

Question....I have had my wallet open and unlocked for over 24 hours (I even disabled sleep mode and lock screen on my computer to be certain!) and it says "staking" in the bottom right hand corner of the wallet but as far as I can tell I haven't received any coins. Is there something else I need to be doing in order to get the coins? Thank you!

Does it say an amount under STAKE (right under where it says SPENDABLE)?  It should have an amount showing how many coins are staking (as opposed to the spendable coins above).  If the STAKE value is greater than 0 then you should be staking.  I've noticed it can take a while for the amounts that are "mined" via staking to appear on the right hand side transaction list but as long as that value is not 0 something should be appearing within 24 hours.  Might also be worth double checking that the wallet is definitely unlocked - I've had a couple of occasions where I thought it was, checked and it wasn't!

How should I understand this?

PoW Block Rewards:
Block 1: 543122.743
Block 2-2881: 0 block reward (Allow movement of ICO coins and 24 hour fair wallet distribution)
Block 2882-7202: 1 SMAC
PoW Mining will end after block 5763 (1 day of 0 reward/3 days of 1 SMAC) and transition to 100% PoS

So when is the pow ending, at block 7202 or 5763?

Nice catch. The ANN was updated with the new structure after the release with the extension of 0 SMAC rewards but the bottom line was not. The last POW block as specified in the code is infact: 7202 to account for the padding 0 reward days.

Second account has been acquired, we now have a reach roughly around 250k.

Great, looking forward to the updates. Also dont forget to update the first page as well as new investors read that at first.

I want to thank the "SMAC heads" (ya I am going with that) for the support the last 24 hours. We hit a snag in the block chain but have resolved it. The low PoW rewards are not profitable to mine so we do not have pools pointing large hash power at our block chain so when the initial miners were disconnected, the network was left on its own fighting for PoS and PoW blocks causing orphaned transactions and chains which flagged on Bittrex causing the wallet shutdown.

There was no issues with the block chain such as hidden block rewards or premines. The block generation causing orphans just was enough to cause some concern. We have turned on some miners to move the chain along and will continue to monitor.

We are also back above ICO price after the initial dumps (Why dump at a 40% loss still confuses me) and have more news coming this week with some project updates as well.

Does the community have any suggestions for a new name?

SMA can't be used because it's a terrible name and it's also a brand of baby milk in the UK/Europe.  Whilst some crypto people may like the SMAC name it sounds terrible from a branding perspective.

Having done a bit of research on marketing and social psychology, the best brand names tend to be single words which don't necessarily describe the product but have some aspect or feeling which the brand would like to embody.

I would suggest a single word, used on it's own without the addition of "coin" would be best (adding coin sounds clumsy and gives a limited impression - it acts as a psychological restraint and binds the concept to Bitcoin).

PoS gives very small rewards. Better for max supply.

Update: 1st account has been acquired.

Awesome.  Let's also look at a more catchy and less druggy name.

You can't pronounce sma but you can pronounce SMAC. I actually like it and the fact that it sounds like a drug to me is a plus :-)
