interesting.
and perhaps a tad sycophantic so feel free to shoot me down in flames, but this is what i believe.

my reasoning is that for the first time, ever, we have been dealing with a company who have not only turned out the most efficient hardware from their own IP but have also flown in the face of all other h/w manufacturers by striving to assure 100% customer satisfaction.
in this industry, it's unheard of.

I just want to say, if you don't win this Guy, well done for rounding up such a skilled team, and for everything that you do to service our mining requirements. Although you are obviously driven by the profit which keeps you in production, so are we and I wish to applaud you, not only in that excellent customer service, but also in the actual hardware you have produced.

I joined the spondoolies club yesterday. Got a SP20 in the mail. I got it up and running but I haven't yet had a chance to figure out firmware updates, power settings, etc. it seems nice so far!

Thanks Guy, all is well ... SP20 arrived today ... and is hashing away. I expect it to take a couple of days to settle down, but seems happy at 1.67Ths right now.

6 months in the BTC space has seen great improvements (sorry to state the obvious) ... with the SP20 footprint at 1.7Ths being so much smaller than the original June SP10 at 1.4Ths, power consumption has of course also improved.

This girl loves you and your company Guy  Tongue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0JC4ddadAo (probably old news).

As raskul and others have said ... home miner(s) will be winter heater(s) ... and the UK is cooling down nicely right now.

Just waiting now for the next gen machines to replace the hosted miners I have ... and into 2015 we go ...

it's my birthday next wednesday = the BIG 40, I want one of those 5.5TH/s beasts. are they shipping yet?

Happy birthday!  I would love to be 40. Hell even 50 would be nice,  I will be 58 in Jan.

Thanks Phil.

just waiting on my shipping notification for the SP31.
i'll be growing palm trees in my flat by spring.

'The right to privacy matters'
To the SP20 owners.  Question - Are you happy with it?  Any objections?  Given current difficulty?  BTC yield?   Are you in it mainly for the hobbyist factor VS going a mini farm?

As an underclocker  biased miner.

I love this gear  750 watts 1350 gh fan on 40 not crazy loud.

this replace 3 s-3's  they would use 1100 watts to do 1350 gh  I sold off 4 s-3's and will sell some more this week.

I had 12 s-3's

I plan to have 4 s-3s and 4 sp20's
.

if you really want 1700gh then this is not satisfactory.
it  does burn a lot more power to get to 1700gh.  about .7 watts a gh vs .55 watts a gh
reminds me of a gpu miner back in 2012.

So if you have very cheap power you may be annoyed that it really does not like running at 1700gh. it is a lot more relaxed at 190 watt setting  or even 170 watt setting doing 1320gh to 1400gh

pretty happy ... replacing S3's with them, not as whiny as a SP10, but still on the loud side.

Its great. If you want to replace 3x Antminer S3 with one of the SP20 .
Less space, more noise. less power supplies.
However , You probably newer can not be achieved speed 1700GH/s at a normal temperature. I succeeded this only with software
2.4.22 TEST VERSIOON  (i it is no longer to manual download.)
Current firmware version: 2.5.27  give me a stable Mining Rate: at 1650 Gh/s and up

SP20 Temp Front / Back T,B 15 °C / 66,68 °C
SP20E Temp Front / Back T,B 16 °C / 74,69 °C

used  raskul's link

I will run 4 sp20's and 4 s-3's

on 3 evga 1300's and 1 evga 1600

should give me  7-8th  and I am done til feb for gear.

Those Sp20's in an isolated room or away from family living? Just cause of the noise.

They are not loud if you downclock.  I would say medium vs loud.  At 70 and 80 settings they are loud.

My fan is set to 40 on the one I have.   my sp20 uses only 730 watts and 1300gh   this is about 0.56 watts

they are also in the  attached garage  so sound isolates from my living area.

I am trying to find the lowest  settings I can do on this machine.

Reminds me a lot of running GPU's back in the day. Underclock saved a ton of power and heat.

I have an attached garage too, but I keep my car in it. Only a single car garage. Winter time is nice for running gear in there, but when it gets hot, the garage gets over 100 degrees so that's not even an option. I have C1's spread all over right now doing a pretty good job of keeping my heat off for now. Just issues with one. Add them up and my SP10, around 5.5TH/s.
These things are pretty small even with a single attached garage you should have plenty of room to store some on a shelf. I had my garage up to 40 degrees this last summer. My garage is north facing so I would crack the door just a tiny bit for airflow, only popped 1 cap on a S1 Cheesy

DHL say Wednesday, which gives me time to get some new fans Smiley

Where are you based?

Ignore that, I'll use Amazon so it doesn't matter Smiley

Scythe Ultra Kaze: 133CFM Fan
Molex to fan adapters

Or you could put it on a fan controller if you wanted even lower speed, but what this gives is the same as setting the stock fan at 60% but without the extreme mechanical fan noise. Its still noisy but just not the same type of noise, much easier to bear imho.

Now I know how the Ultra Kaze work this is the fan I'm going to try next:
Silverston Tek FHP-141 177+CFM Fan
Its 140mm fan but with 120mm fittings, but it won't fit inside the SP20 so I'll try bolting it on the outside Smiley

Another one I have tried is two CoolerMaster Jetflo 95CFM fans in push/pull configuration. Which is very quiet but not quite as effective as I had hoped.

Also the Scythe Kaze Jyuni Slipstream Fan:
Its a 110CFM fan which again I think works best in a push/pull configuration but not as effective as one 130+CFM fan
