With all the investment that you need going with the SP-30 which will only come online in august ?

The equipments themselves
The Air conditioning units
The electricity that you had to pay

How iare you going to return your btc to btc ?
Tell me something i don't know ?
Maybe you're counting all of this in USD ?

If you live somewhere reasonably cool, you can get away with free air cooling just using fans.

That said, nobody is really expected to build his own datacenter in his basement (especially in a hot environment), as it will be more expensive than simply hosting them in a Datacenter in cooperation with spondoolies.

That is why there will be special long-term contracts available, of which the conditions for the WA datacenter are already available (290$ per month including space, cooling, security, professional service etc.)

Mining, especially when using high power equipment, was never a cheap get-rich quick scheme... and you always needed to pay for cooling etc. if you live in a hotter climate.

so does anyone have their sp10's a home?
how much heat do they put out?

I was thinking of storing 4 SP30s in rack in a closet and sticking a self contained 12,000 BTU air conditioning system in there.  Do you guys think that will be enough?

4x sp30 will create approximately 12 kw of heat.

A single ac of 12,000 btu can absorb around 3.5kw of heat.

Noway then.

So what you're saying is that I need something like this??

I've just purchased some SP10's May batch with 10% discount, thanks Spondoolies Tech.

Grin Shocked I'll be looking forward to mine with some professional build hardware for a change.

Wow, "some SP10's" very nice, wish I had more than one! You won't be disappointed.

How and when will we be able to arrange hosting for the SP30 GB units? I emailed you a few days ago but I haven't received a response.
The deal with the DC in WA state was already arranged. The units will be shipped and hosted as soon as we'll produce them in August.
Bulk shipment every day.

We're a bit overwhelmed with emails.

Edit: We'll contact all the GB customers well before August to check if they're interested in the hosting plan.

How does one update the SP10 to latest cgminer (4.3.2)?  Is it bundled with the firmware?
No need to manually update, it's part of the firmware

OK - some of us (me) are upgrade junkies and always like to be running the most current CGminer.  4.2.3 was very solid so no issues at all.

I have the latest Spondoolies-Tech latest firmware installed...

Hardware Version: SP10 Dawson
FW Version: 1.2.35
CGMiner Version: cgminer 4.2.3
CGMiner Status: Running
MinerGate Status: Running

Can anyone who has a hosted unit in spondoolies datacenter tell me what his typical intake temperature is?

I am quite sure it will be better than the datacenter i am currently hosting a unit at.

22-25 degrees Celsius

Some actual customers units in the DC below

We need to update the web site to 1.5 THs

Hi Spondoolies-Tech folks,

A request/suggestion: It would be great to be able to toggle, let's say the (green) "Enable" URL icon on or off in the Pools menu, for each of the entry's.  Would be handy for exploring other pools as I do from time to time. I don't know what all would be involved to do such a request and only if enough other people agree to justify it.

Thank you,

~Blaise

Hi Spondoolies-Tech,

Question: 1200 Watts is the default "Maximum Power Consumption" setting for the Dawson - SP10. Is there any advantage, performance wise, in changing it to the 1250 Watts setting?

Thank you,

~Blaise
Yes, when it is cold enough, you enable the unit to clock even higher, without limiting power draw to 1200W. (Most of the time maximum performance is limited by the cooling ability)
Use only on 208V+ circuits.

Forgot to quote...

Great reply to my question, very good to know and understand.

Thank you,

~Blaise
