Coins, I think it's time for you to post four ladies in the forum to signify the quadruple bottom. A very strong buy signal.  Tongue

you need to be telling everyone your out of 10 score for the whitepaper first. perhaps that might spur on the buying  Tongue

After reading the first sentence, I'm thinking a 1 out of 10... you spell decentralize with an S  Roll Eyes

Jk, will be back tonight with a real analysis.  Grin Grin

I think you'll find you spell it wrong.

I keep telling everyone that Bitcoin it a British invention, as you can see from the Satoshi whitepaper, he spells favour with a u, not favor as you Yanks spell it.

So, its decentralisation. Got it  Kiss

Can't find the specific source, it may have been on Slack...but the evolution is around:

But first, a couple of surveys on what Apps to build on Master Nodes:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10656234

....

I have been thinking about the name thing for a while.

I still think the master node services can win despite the name.  SPR is not necessarily about a currency. It's about software products and services.

New poll about how we shall call "masternodes" from now on.

You are allowed to change your vote during the process.

+1 for ServiceNodes

When you run programs on any system, you run 'services'.

IIRC, it was my idea to change the name and to use the label 'Service', because that's what people do when they run apps on their computers - they run services.

*cough*

implemented here

Want to remind people that there are some other ways to keep up with Spreadcoin - I keep these updated with important things in the forums:

EDIT: I'm a hero member. I don't know what to do with my hands.

It's a mandatory tradition, no...obligation...that you open all your windows, stand in front of the mirror and shout "I'm a Hero", "I'm a Hero", "I'm a Hero", "I'm a Hero", etc., while doing the following dance:

I just did it but I forgot to film it. Don't hate me.  Tongue Tongue

Now I'm curious what the tradition is for Legendary status... guess I have to wait another few months  Grin

Who wants to read my new whitepaper and give me their views?

(It's also got loads of typos and general mistakes I haven't had time to check over)

My offer from a while back still stands and I have lots of free time.  Smiley

Also, when I briefly stopped in to watch the Trezor video they were saying the Trezor 2 would support firmware from other people... sounds like Spreadcoin can have its own "official" firmware! The dev mentioned something about having the language be in python though.

I enjoy being in the community - can't you tell by my obnoxious number of posts?

Everyone just chill and generally back-off. If you want to be productive, go over to Bittrex and do some trading.

We've seen that there are some planned videos and explanations on the way ahead.

I do counselling sessions on Slack, if anyone wants to part with some SPR for a well qualified psychiatrist (I've been YouTube trained), pm.

Sugar, you really are fly (did I say that already?)

I can't speak for anyone else in this discussion, but I am not upset or angry and have not been during the course of this discussion. I am a strong supporter of the project and Georgem. I enjoy being in the community - can't you tell by my obnoxious number of posts?

I have a grievance that I have not mentioned much of up until now and as you can see it is shared by a number of community members.

I am not here to criticize anyone. I am here to advocate for something which I think would help move the project forward. I have yet to see any logical reason why my suggestion would not help, or otherwise should not be posted in the forum. Do you not think that it would help build trust within the community?

Actually, after a bit of thinking, I think I have a solution to this.

Georgem, since you are doing a Patreon soon, I would like to suggest that there is a formal way on Patreon for members to negotiate with you on more 'community based issues'. In the instance that you feel something is less important to the project, but certain members of the community do think it's important, there should be a way to come up with a compromise. For instance, if I feel it's really important for you to come into the forum every morning and write a poem, then I can pay you to do so. (Obviously, the price of more absurd requests would be higher - because you would negotiate them to be higher.)

But in the event that someone has a 'reasonable' request in regards to the community (or some other issue) they could offer you BTC or USD in exchange for their request.

In this case since I feel that an explanation for the delay / discrepancy in your post would help the community and is an important issue to be solved, I would be willing to send you a donation / negotiate something with you on Patreon to have you post about it.

I think this is a fair way of going about this. If people have some requests, then they can pay to have them addressed.

You could post the option on Patreon as such:

"Donate $XXX for Y request - will negotiate depending on request."

The truth is the community never received a proper explanation for this; I implore you to find one.
...
This isn't something that can just be whisked away.

But why now?

It looks like georgem is gaining nice momentum.
I can't wait to see more.

What's your sudden fascination with something that happened a year ago?

-sf-

Well, I agree he is gaining momentum. I have said I like where things are going. I wouldn't be donating if I didn't.

Why now though?

No real particular reason. It was brought up, and now seems like a good time to address the issue because he has signaled that he is going to be more committed to the community and doing regular updates. Although action is better than words, I think an explanation in this matter would further show his commitment to the things he says he will do in the coming months.

The real question is "Would an explanation help the community or would it not?"

If an explanation would serve the project well (and I think evidence points to that being the case), then what possible reasons would there be to not do so?

I'm not here to moan as an investor who wants to see a profit and just disappear. I really want the project to succeed for its own merits as a great idea whose time has come.

There is also lots of evidence that a successful project, even mildly successful, can generate sufficient monthly revenue for one or two devs to work full time on the project, if that's what they choose. So it's as much a shame for Georgem as it is for everyone here for almost 2 years that we just want to get over that initial hurdle when we the community can take more active participation baking nodes, creating guides for noobs, getting the word out generally. That activity itself creates more people wanting to join the project. Remember that DASH doesn't really have anything other than masternodes and it has reached such a high level of adoption and community spirit just through people setting up nodes.

Its also a shame the project missed out on the opportunity to be part of the recent Blockcahin conference that Roger Ver eventually organized in London. IIRC the idea for that conference (http://blockchain2020.com) originated in this thread and it was to be of direct benefit to promote Spreadcoin through Bitcoin.com and Roger Ver.  The conference went ahead but without us. I'm sure there will be other different opportunities in the future.

What I find myself suggesting is that people like me just back off and wait. I have taken the 'if it happens, it happens' attitude. The problem with that approach is Bittrex don't quite have the same wait patiently and see mentality.

It's a tricky one to get the right balance. But I am here for the long-term. Don't get me figured wrong as a moaner and finger pointer complaining that I haven't seen a ROI. If it was about money, I can assure you I would simply liquidate several DASH masternodes. Like I said, it would be great to get off the starting line and get more people onboard.

Whether implementation is possible or timely will be a different story.

Timely?  Huh

For what exactly?

Did you impulse buy an expensive car,
and the first payment is soon due?

I hear the same faux urgency I heard during many a pump & dump.

You might have missed his prior post, which quoted the dev's own timeline. If you scroll up you'll see it, and if you're a real member here and not a sock puppet you'll understand what he means by timeliness.

U mull over his message and why he worded it the way he did, so I see u're inclined to defend his interests all the while until a reasonable concern hits the forum space and kicks u out of ur comfort zone since u will be unable to sort it out.
