The hex values needed to identify the network is missing from the source code: SCAM COIN
I don't know what hex values are you talking about. Provided source code is enough to build your own wallet and it is the same code that is used to build Win and Mac wallets from OP. Anyone who has necessary skills can make gitian builds and bitwise compare them with provided binaries. So there is nothing missing from source code.

Didn't realize you were the dev...

So nothing missing from the source code, eh? Well then - it's pretty obvious you're not a dev, just a do-boy who handles this thread? You wanna put something done on your claim that nothing's missing from the code? I'm all game buddy - just say the word.

The Hex value from my understanding is for building pools not wallets as it is a identifier for the pool to lock onto , but that my understanding , I could be wrong!!

No, you're correct. Which is why you see I was responding to someone who was asking about pools. Without those values... no can't do!

We need more miners of this coin. It is a good coin: no premine, fair launch, still solo-minable by wallet.
Would be nice if some pool (or the Dev) would be able to adapt some miner code in order for it to be minable with pools. It is X11 with an adaption in the timestamp code: 64 bit instead of 32 bit. Any poolowner around that has the skills to work on this?

Not possible. The hex values needed to identify the network is missing from the source code:SCAM COIN

Well I don't know the details about how important those hex values are to identify the network or if maybe this is done in another way. Maybe you can explain the impact of this in a less technical way? Or maybe the dev can explain if it is there or not and why? It's a little bit too forward to say something is a scamcoin with the little information you gave and without consulting the dev about these technical details.

edit: Found out that you have also stated this in another thread and that one gave me a little more information about why you called this a scamcoin. You presumed there were pools that were having the information you don't have, and that is why you called it a scamcoin. I can assure you, it is not very likely there are pools. They are not stated in the OP and if you had taken the time to download the wallet and look at the difficulty and hashrate, you would have known that.

We're past block 2200 now (2219 to be exact) and I found my very first block with the new amount of coins (66.662971).
That went well Wink

@dev, you should consider adding a "Mining" tab in the wallet. Have a look at AppleByte. It's cool that you can mine via their pool from the wallet with that one.

In what way is this a scam?  No pools to monopolize mining so even with my crappy old computer I can mine.  dev is just working on the coin in his spare time with no rush/desire to get it on an exchange where it will be dumped and killed before it can go anywhere.  Compared to every other coin that gets released, this one is farthest from looking like a scam coin.

Dev is active !!
Dev is developing!!
Dev is doing things like updates and that at correct times and giving enough notice!!
No sure were scam coin comes into it at all, but you can have your own opinion, but so far he she has been on the mark and have to agree one of the fairest coins that has come out in a long long time!! Cool

Hardfork at block 2200.

1. Spacing between blocks changed to 1 minute, this is to make solo-mining easier. In the future I plan to add new features which will give more incentive for solo-mining to make this coin much more decentralized than any other PoW currency.
2. Reward per block is now 10 times smaller so that spreadcoin generation speed and total supply is still the same. Also I fixed stupid mistake in reward computation, now it is correct.

P.S. Online blockchain explorer is almost ready.

Nice update Dev! After the online blockexplorer is up and running u should contact some exchanges to list it.

Come on people and mine it! 150 blocks until the block reward will be 10x smaller. Diff is still low

New version: all Darkcoin graphics were replaced + there are small fixes for block explorer.
I set up a DNS seed and a SpreadCoin node on the server (its ip address is built into the wallet), so connectivity should be better now (although it already was quite good).
Also, I built an OS X wallet but I didn't test it, if you will try it please let me know whether it works or not.

Nice to hear, will update my wallet soon  Smiley
In the meantime: people, this one is still minable by CPU with a homepc, which is rare these days! That makes it a very nice niche for now! Come and mine some, development is ongoing, developer is dedicated and this is not just another pump and dump coin!

Dev, what are your plans for now? Because if things go on like they go now, this coin will die soon  Sad

coin is already death hahaha... no reason for put energie in this. just stop here. go to 1 of the 10000 other alt coins released this week, at least they have a normall op and promises ( yeah promises, also not more then that haha) but at least, a promise ^^

i suggest: cannabiscoin, dev who show himself, shops what accept the coin, rising prise, no promises but facts.
Even if u dont smoke cannabis, that coin is a good investment, pure because the dev is also a shop owner, and a farmer. ( he post pictures about his progress etc in real life.. )

Well, I am still mining this, so not dead at all Wink Just wanted to be sure development is going on, and happy to hear it is.

Could you make sure you update the version numbers and also include that in the file name (plus update the OP).

So this is the first coin I've ever mined (very much a newbie) since I could do it via the wallet.. I actually got a block which surprised me given I was running it on an old crap computer. Felt like winning with a $2 scratch and win ticket... lol
