hi,

summer is coming,
i have 4 reference vega 56 with stock bios.
In order to lower the heat and reduce the noise, what should i do ?
flash them with 64 bios ?
which ppt should i use ?

today, i use my vegas with stock bios and 1100MHz HBM @ 905mV power play table
and i have this perf

I wouldn't flash to v64 because that increase the voltgae on the hbm and make more heat.
But you say you use stock bios at 1100hbm isn't that vega 64?

Anyway. Try and lower your core clock as low as you can tolerate the drop in hashrate. This will reduce power and heat.

i didnt flash my vega 56 but i used a ppt from http://vega.miningguides.com/#SoftTables

in gpuz, the default clock is 1408mhz and memory 1100mhz
clock 1400mhhz and memory 900mhz

Hi guys,

Sometimes one of my Vega56 gets in trouble with only one of the two threads. I tried to use the --watchdog_script parameter but unfortunately it works only for a dead GPU.
Do you know any settings I can use for the "half dead" GPU?

@todxx Is it possible to implement an internal watchdog for the threads(just in case only one thread will die the watchdog would restart only that thread)?

Tnx to the devs for this awesome miner! Wink

this miner supports the algorithm cryptonight-pico or cryptonight-ultralite?

Pico = Turtle = cn_trtl
Ultralite = UPX2 = cn_upx2

i don't undrestand how to perform setting with trm... can you explain it please?

Follow the instructions given by the pool. Here's an example how you would set it for Loki+Trtl at herominer pool

teamredminer.exe -a cnv8_trtl -o stratum+tcp://ca.lokiturtle.herominers.com:10522 - u -p

may be this question is already asked but i don't see. Will TRM support merged mining in future?

It's really a blockchain and pool issue, not a miner one.  Herominers and hashvault both support some merged options, for instance.  I used TRM on the former for loki+turtle previously, when it was more profitable.

Maybe you need diffrent OS Wink

I also have rig with 4 reference Vega 56 (flashed with 64 bios).
Here my best results with diffrent OS and BIOS:

Nice work on upx2. I only get 80khs on v64 or 77khs on same power level as srb (which I get 65khs).

Would love to see you guys kill it on MTP

can you help me with the config file?
I am running the following command to miner UPX2 but the miner crash:

teamredminer.exe -a cnv8_upx2 -o stratum+tcp://uplexa.herominers.com:10472 -u address -p win10

Any idea?
thx

Quick Edit : Important to note that the increase in TRM HR is not at the cost of lower efficiency, so if you wanna have the best Hash/watt efficiency, choose TRM.
The OP moved his post, but this is quite important imo. Once properly tweaked, results achieved with TRM are consistently higher, with a lower power draw than SRB.

There only seems to be more of a contest on some Polaris cards on smaller CN algos from what I'm reading (not verified - do your own tests). Otherwise, it's a no-brainer.

is there an effective ppt for radeon VII Huh I configure the 1750 MHz / 950 mV core and 1100 memory via the MSI afterburner. the cooler turns to the maximum and at the same time goes overheating. obviously need a more efficient power scheme

@kerney666, whet MTP support?
Funny we were just talking about MTP yesterday...
What's the best AMD MTP miner so far? Andrucrypt had had a go early but stopped development. Has djm34 made any decent effort on OpenCL?

If not, this screams for TRM to jump in... Smiley

EDIT: but to be perfectly honest, unless you can get at least 3 MH/s out of a Vega GPU (good luck), Zcoin isn't currently profitable enough to justify the work. Of course, market conditions can change.

Tested the latest djm34 version with Vega64's. Stable, but just 1.5 MH/s only. Not worth atm.

I would also love to see MTP, but anything below 3 MH/s for Vega64 makes no sence (as you said too).
