Now got my hands on radeon 7 (power color with samsung mem).
1540/940@850mv + some timings (similar with my vega64) + 13*13 mode and I have 2.77khs.
Is it ok or should I expect higher results with some tuning? I am not considering to increase voltage and gpu clock. Don't want extra heat.
So, is there a way to get boost without increasing gpu clock?

Imo Sorry to tell you but one of my Vegas 56 does 2.1khs on xmr and that was only £230 new. You might be better off mining a heavier coin with that gpu, should be more profitable I'd say

Mining Ether would be my first option for it
check mining calculators and you will see what is better from pair 2.77khs xmr @ 150watt and 80mhs eth with 200watt
As for heavy algos we need some new drivers to overcome speed regression when using > 8gb ram. Current drivers can't deliver it for VII

Hi guys,

Sometimes one of my Vega56 gets in trouble with only one of the two threads. I tried to use the --watchdog_script parameter but unfortunately it works only for a dead GPU.
Do you know any settings I can use for the "half dead" GPU?

@todxx Is it possible to implement an internal watchdog for the threads(just in case only one thread will die the watchdog would restart only that thread)?

Tnx to the devs for this awesome miner! Wink

@kerney666 An internal watchdog, is it possible?

Hi! Must have missed this post earlier. Yeah, I’ve noticed this behavior as well, very annoying! We need to check both threads individually. Will schedule it for an upcoming version.

It is possible to make algorithm switching to mine on pools like moneroocean ?

thx

Unfortunately, implementing native algo switching isn't very high up on the priority list. However, I did spend some time to make sure the MoneroOcean meta-miner is compatible with TRM. Don't know how tech savvy you are, it was a few months ago that I tested it myself, but it was working fine at the time.

The Meta Miner is here, my pull request to add support for TRM was accepted in > 1 month ago: https://github.com/MoneroOcean/meta-miner. Check it out and let me know if you need assistance.

What's a good power draw from the wall for a 6 card rig? (4) Shappire 580s and (2) Power Color 590s.

Say for CNR and CRV8_Reverse Waltz?

With 3x 580 and 1x570, i am getting ~470-490w at wall, depending on ambient temp. Depending on clocks, you can get probably around 650-700W for 6 GPUs.

Hello, I do not want to sound insistent, but can you tell us if there is a definite reason why you do not work on heavyalgos? half of the posts ask for it but you systematically avoid the subject.
It's such a shame for your miner (he's so good) most smart people go on SRBminer or claymore now because they bring in a lot more.

Hi! It’s never been my intention to avoid the subject, I’ve rather stated a number of times we’d hit the 4MB variants next. It has been very problematic to find quality dev time lately though, and I don’t want to make any false promises. Also, I sort of agree myself these variants should have been ready at least a month ago, makes it even more difficult to add anything of value when the topic comes up  Grin.

Its such a quality miner I would rather the devfee was going to you guys thats all! Cheesy

Hey guys i have a problem with my vega 64 x6 GPU rig.
After i started to mine on of my GPUs are crashing and then make whole rig crash.
Im using 19.4.1 driver and msi afterburner 1050 mem clock and MSI vega 64 with sumsong memory.

any idea ?

Hi! A little difficult to say. How much have you played around with clocks and powerplay tables? Unless there is some hardware issue, working with clocks is pretty much what we can do.

Hi, is it possible the latest drivers don't like the PPT, or at least the old(Hellea) PPT. I have had same issue with V64, with newer drivers TRM crashes with PPT installed but is fine with no PPT. Exact symptoms are either the ramp up sequence gets stuck at some level, 90-95% or thread on V64 dies and TRM cannot be exited, needs hardware reset.

That's a driver crash, no question about that part. I have a somewhat related question: the old PPTs that were circulated by e.g. hellea and brnsted way back when (Oct 2017 and forth) very often ran a SoC clock of 1200 MHz. For both myself and other tweakers, this has just lead to huge headaches with more recent drivers. Any downclock/undervolting attempt to increase efficiency is very difficult to get stable.

Can you check if your PPT runs at 1200 MHz or the more common 1107 MHz? If you don't know, PM me the PPT, the text in the .reg file is sufficient.

Maybe your core voltage is to low?

Hi, i just discovered your miner and i would like to thank you for impressive work.

I have an annoying card (a RX560), and i've tweaked it a lot, trying several miners, several settings here and there, but never got something close to her "sisters".

For the first time, without changing anything, a part of the gap (1/3rd) is finally filled.

So, again, thanks.

Hi, thanks for the kind words! Rx 560s are probably the gpu type we've tested on the least, not a very common card among the users. Glad to hear you got a boost though! May I ask what settings you ended up running with? Do you let the miner choose the default setting, or did you tweak the config?

Hi, sorry for the late answer i didn't got any notification.

The default setting (4+4) gave me a big boost (12%), but tweaking to "3+3" gave me a bit more (0.5%).

Why does he even need to give you a reason..... its people like you that discourage these great developers. If it was easy eveyone would do it.

I'm sorry there is  lack of understanding, i didn't want to discourage this top developers, i just wanted to be sure they are going the right way, at least the way actual miners want they to go.

Reread @kerney666’s last comment on the subject (only 6 comments back).  He says they’re working on it:

I would love the heavy and lite capability too.

Resorting to SRB at the moment and I would prefer to use TRM.  Cry
