a patched version of cgminer does not mean documentation to the developers of cgminer so they can implement the drivers for said device correctly.
If technobit has the drivers and gives them up in the fork tree of cgminer, unless technobit tells them how to edit and modify the drivers, its up to technobit to implement it correctly. so guess what, when a new cgminer comes out, no updates to the drivers are going to be implemented, any security holes, memory leaks, chip killing code will be present in the next patch and there after...
What are you talking about dude? Your sentences twist up & make no sense.
Who is they you mean there?
Who will implement?
Type it slowly, one by one. This is not a race.
The people that "They" are is Ckolivas and if i recall correctly, Kano too.
They are the people who run and maintain CGMiner.
Any drivers for hardware that use CGminer is licensed under the GPLv3. This means that the source to any modifications that the hardware makers make to CGMiner code MUST be provided by law if the hardware makers distribute modified binaries.
if they do not, they could get sued
Technobit has offered the drivers as open source, but they better not just throw a blob of code up on the net and call it a day.
If the hardware developers do not give documentation on how the "open source" drivers work with the mining software, things are not going to work properly. Both Luke-JR and Ckolivas will require this.
EG: Rockminer made drivers for CGMiner 4.3.3, making the "New R-Box" run at 110Ghs, but there was a new version of CGMiner out with a security patch.
The devs (Ckolivas) attempted to implement the new modified drivers into the new 4.7.1 and 4.8.0, the drivers are not working correctly. Because Ckolivas does not understand how the drivers work, he needs documentation to get it running correctly. all that Ckolivas can do is modify some numbers and code to get something out, but CGMiner 4.7.1 and 4.8.0 does not run the "New R-Box" at 110GHs but at 80Ghs to 50Ghs.
Some people are lucky to get it working at 120GHs with it, but not all.
do you understand now? technobit better not follow rocketminer.
and i dont mean in the way of making a little mining box like the R-box's, i mean in the way of ignoring the software developers of the mining software.
Technobit never push their driver back to cgminer. If you read cgminer thread & cgminer thread, technobit driver never integrated to new original cgminer version. When new cgminer out from CK, technobit fork the cgminer & make new patch.
So technobit maintain the driver on their own.
