I'm also intrigued by the label, BE300_X24_Board_Rev1.0
Maybe AM is doing a string X24 miner?  If you had 4 boards you could chain them and drop ~3V across each, so a 12V rail could supply power.

4 chips per row, 6 rows = 24 (as seen on photo)

Oh I get that it's a 24 chip design, it's just a very interesting one as it the string design there is not long enough to accept 12V in.

My guess is that you would need 3-4 of these boards to come up with something you could power off a 12V rail.  (depending on the set point, BE300s automatically clock themselves off of input voltage)

That was my guess too but it's actually a very low clock setpoint, even lower voltage than at their so called "low power" setpoint, because that would require 3.3V per board, 0.55 V per chip.  If you powered four of these off of 12V you have 3V per board, 0.5V per chip.  Alternately, three boards would be 4V/board, 0.666 V/chip, which is close, though slightly lower than the "standard" setpoint of 0.7V/chip.  But many 12V rails are slightly high anyhow, so it might be pretty close.

I hope they release more info on their chips soon.

well from a MATH sense of using it to mine for a block with it on a hope prayer (bicoin lottery device) you could say that

on the other hand if I needed a space heater in a cubicle at work and had free elec wtf I'd prob buy one

(keep the toesies warm and what the heck you could get lucky)

cute toy....and it makes nice whirly noises and has them pretty LCD's

Raskul, that is a very interesting looking board.  Clearly a string miner setup, yet only six rows of chips, which means that the input voltage is probably ~3.3V, not 12V.

It looks like there are no controllers on the board, which means that the only I/O would be SPI, which is what the chips speak natively (unless that changed from previous BE ASICs).  Looking at both ends there's an SPI in and an SPI out, which implies that these boards could be chained together off of a single controller.

Worth pointing out although Friedcat already mentioned it, the PMS01 ASICs do all the level shifting necessary for the BE chips, making these string miners much cleaner than the original prisma.  The big FET next to the PMS01 is probably for sinking current to reduce ripple, which is one of the reasons that prismas were so good at catching fire.  When ASICs go idle, the FET sinks power to keep the current draw constant.
