5000 TRC for a masternode is correct!

We recommend a local wallet (could be Windows, Linux, or OSX, once we have them out), and a VPS for security reasons.  The masternode should be run on the VPS because it shows a public IP.


It is a masternode stats site.  A lot of people has asked that we get on there for the exposure.  Some awesome people donated $200 USD for it.  Obviously it won't take effect until masternodes are implemented.  So instead of having to do the math about how many masternodes/payouts someone gets you can just send them the link, and it is pretty close to real time.  We will eventually be hosting our own version of it, but that is a ways off.


We are thinking about doing a series of them.  That one was just a test to see how it came out.  Someone found the guy on Fiverr (which I think you recommended a while ago).  It turned out pretty good, so we are going to do a series of them.  Each one about a minute long, and dealing with a very specific portion of block chain tech.  For example, one dealing with merge mining SHA256, one for block rewards etc.  We also are thinking of getting them in 3 languages, English, Chinese, and Spanish.  The price gets a little expensive for all three languages, and we want to keep putting them out before decentralized governance so we will probably ask for donations.  I will also be posting the scripts publicly before the videos are made.  If anyone wants to write a script for a video feel free to PM me.

What is masternodes.pro?

So what I understand is that we need to have 5000 TRC in order to run a masternode. Is that correct? Also, would this be setup on a cold/hot wallet concept for Windows/Linux environment?

What is the expected earning from MN per day. I know the numbers cannot be exact value but a rough estimate would help.

The project seems good to me and I am interested in MN hence the questions.

All went fine and apparently quick by adding these 5nodes. :-) Happily, far less than 12h.

It usually takes about 12 hours.  Tell me if the sync isn't continuous!  There is a bootstrap at https://bchain.info/trc/ but no one has tested it yet.

I just downloaded the wallet and currently the sync process is ongoing "...4years 39weeks...".
I have added the proposed nodes above.

I think what you are saying is, "Dividends (rewards) from masternodes may not be profitable, during the current price fluctuations, and it may be better to just store TRC in your local wallet.  Then you can sell them during spike profit periods."

You can do that if you want.  I would never disparage someone for making a profit.  Remember I am originally a trader of cryptocoins.

I think the difference in this case is that Terracoin has really been moving forward.  Sure, hold your coins for the next 5 or 6 weeks, but look at the accomplishments that have happened in the past few months.

Look at the growth of the community which I just posted in my most recent weekly update.

I do think we will probably experience another pump and dump before the hard fork, so pick up 5,000 TRC now (or more if you want to play with it), and just wait it out.

I half agree with your feedback, and I totally understand where you are coming from, but I am going to set up masternodes as fast as possible after the hard fork.

Dividends from the main nodes will be profitable, while TRC's value remains unclear, and I think better to continue to collect Stored in the wallet, which may be part of the main node, will bring more profit from time to time.

August 24th Terracoin Update - Unabated

Testing continues unabated, and we are on schedule for the hard fork in 5 or 6 weeks!

We will have the public testnet out soon, so that everyone can put in ridiculous proposals and try to break the code like we have been doing so far.

I know this is a lot to ask, but once the public testnet comes out we are going to need everyone to be really nitpicky.  We will only have source code available at the beginning but during that time if everyone could really just come together and just tear into it; that would be great!

I will also be posting guides for masternode setup at that time, so also feel free to really dig into those things.  No holds barred!
