Are there ways to earn this coin without mining, maybe by writing?

Had this issue also last night, after trying everything with all options, this is working:
throw all away except wallet.dat (transactions)
start with -timeout=200

all blocks will be gathered again.

in my case, after 1 day of not using the wallet, everything was out of sync, and transactions didnt match.

You mean you had this problem:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3142100

...Or different?  I don't know how to get the wallet working on my system or what to try next.

If " -timeout=200 " is for me, where does that go?  config file?

Sorry for the noob q's, everyone.

Someone called gothicnoble just threw 250GH/s at the coin on http://tgc.sonicrules.org

Would that be an attack?

I hope not!

I'm very busy with my college duties but if there is a suspected attack going on, PM me and I'll throw 30GH/s at the coin....

Maybe a list should be loosely maintained of people that can prevent 51% attacks until the coin takes off!

No I don't think there are any attacks on this coin. Everything is fine. Smiley

I get "no block source" while I'm connected to the network and block downloading/ verifying is not progressing.

Any nodes I can add using the console?
Would that help?

Edit: I added a few nodes. It seems I only have 2 connections to the network.... I'm on block 10063, I'll check if there is any progress later, I think there will be!
Edit: Is the issue being caused by nodes not having upgraded to v1.1?

I seem to have 23 active connections to the tigercoin network but only 8 to the bitcoin network which is nearly a 300% difference...
What gives? Obviously bitcoin is a larger network so I don't see why I have less connections to it.

I am testing http://tgc.sonicrules.org:3334 and the shares don't seem to be found very often by anyone there for such a low diff coin atm. Is the pool set up correctly? In bfgminer it's saying diff 15, where on other busier SHA256 pools like the ones for ZET it says diff 3, sometimes diff 1.

latest github updated tigercoin client can't get any connection to the network here (having all the OP addnode strings at the conf file). Any advise?

Grin just got super block with 512 tiger  Grin

"A man was found dead earlier today in his home when suddenly an immense pack of tigers  appeared out of thin air. Professional ecologist Dr. Minted Stone found traces of many different kinds of tigers including many that were presumed extinct in the 20th century such as the giant Siberian tiger which can weigh nearly a third ton or 660 pounds and the relatively small 200 pound Balinese tiger. This event was unprecedented as tigers have not been known to live in North America nor appear in such concentrations. Many dismissed the story as a hoax until they found a brutal video of the men's death circulating on the Internet along with a forum post that was dated to minutes before his death. The source of the video appears to be the US Government. The NSA denies having the capability to spy and record people's webcams but some conspiracy theories exist that the NSA is giving large sums of money to Microsoft and Skype as well as other big companies to include spyware in their chat programs. While the source of the video is unclear the content is clearly authentic as verified by our channel's experts and the uncensored footage will be found in our website later today."
