Is there a way for TIPS/TiPS technology to make it to the growing Restaurants market alongside Bitcoin?right now adoption of bitcoin into the real world is starting to spread and soon will start to explode, I'm especially interested in the market of Restaurants (if you follow Let's Talk Bitcoin
) more and more restaurants are starting to accept bitcoin, but right now all they can do is pay the entire bill to the restaurant directly without 'tipping' the waiters. There is no solution for that right now. So I'm wondering whether it's possible to find a way to integrate TIPS with the wallets that are being used for the payment, so when somebody makes a payment in the restaurant they can add a percentage or a chosen amount in dollars as a tip for the waiter, and when they make the payment the tip goes to the waiter.
a solution I can imagine is that, the software of the restaurant that generates the QR code for each bill, will include the corresponding TiPS address of the waiter alongside the BTC address of the restaurant and the customer will have in his wallet a tipping option that will add that amount of tips and send them to the tips address included in the QR code. What do you think? alternatively, the waiter will have their TIPS address on a separate QR with them all the time and the customer makes a separate payment with the TIPS wallet. either way, if we can find a solution and get TIPS to this market it would be the start of something huge
what do you think?
Something like this:
Now we "only" need android wallet that can catch data from android barcode scanner.
That's it, simple.
That's my TIPS wallet, same as below my posts- go ahead check it.
nice, that's the easy solution. but I'm not sure it would be practical and thus get us into that market. It means the waiter will have their TIPS badge with them, and the customer after paying the restaurant will need to open his TIPS wallet, scan the QR of the waiter and tip them separately. Would be a good way if we don't find a more practical solution, but there is no reason why they won't do the same thing using bitcoin, and they don't even do that cuz too complicated so I guess it won't be adopted. we need to beat bitcoin to the solution and to take over that piece of market before they do.
The other way I was suggesting, is to integrate the TIPS address of the waiter within the QR of the BTC on the bill, and the TIPS payment into the bitcoin wallet, so the customer needs to scan only once to pay bitcoin (or whatever currency the restaurant chooses) to the restaurant and at the same time send a portion of tips to the waiter.
When the TIPS payment processor works, maybe have the TIPS wallet app capable of making two payments simultaniously and then get the restaurants to use our system. This would be the solution restaurants need. When the waiter prints out the bill, the QR will include the bill value and restaurant address, in addition to the TIPS address of the waiter printing the bill. The bill will be automatically put in the payment field of the wallet app, and there is an additional Tip field where the customer gives the Tip amount he wants to send to the waiter (or predefined percentage the customer always uses). both payments go out at the same time, and it requires only one scan, one bill. That's it.
To get into the market maybe the TIPS wallet should be able to handle BTC payments as well so if the customer prefers to pay BTC they can, or also trade btc for tips directly from the app.
