Is there a way for TIPS/TiPS technology to make it to the growing Restaurants market alongside Bitcoin?

right now adoption of bitcoin into the real world is starting to spread and soon will start to explode, I'm especially interested in the market of Restaurants (if you follow Let's Talk Bitcoin ) more and more restaurants are starting to accept bitcoin, but right now all they can do is pay the entire bill to the restaurant directly without 'tipping' the waiters. There is no solution for that right now. So I'm wondering whether it's possible to find a way to integrate TIPS with the wallets that are being used for the payment, so when somebody makes a payment in the restaurant they can add a percentage or a chosen amount in dollars as a tip for the waiter, and when they make the payment the tip goes to the waiter.
a solution I can imagine is that, the software of the restaurant that generates the QR code for each bill, will include the corresponding TiPS address of the waiter alongside the BTC address of the restaurant and the customer will have in his wallet a tipping option that will add that amount of tips and send them to the tips address included in the QR code. What do you think? alternatively, the waiter will have their TIPS address on a separate QR with them all the time and the customer makes a separate payment with the TIPS wallet. either way, if we can find a solution and get TIPS to this market it would be the start of something huge

Now Im passionate about TIPS but not the Fedora part. I honestly believe TIPS (fiscal kind) The Internet Payment System is much easier to promote then Fedora the hat tip coin. Credit to cnsd


The coin has two unique selling propositions USPs Coin mixing and TIPS.
Tipping and Security
 
TIPS is the brand first. Then once we have the brand done we can add in the features. We do not want to build a brand based on one aspect of the technology because we will have to compete against others in the market for that share. Apple brand is not about a motherboard from the 70s. Side note: jonathan Ive the designer came up with the ipod design not steve jobs. design is just as important as the technology for a brand to grow , and TIPS needs design.

We have TIPS. That means we own the entire tipping market world wide forever. The coin mixing is not what the brand is. Its an add on.

An advert would go...We are TIPS the brand (logo in corner) and we have a new feature.....
From an advertising perspective we can have the internet payment system logo. with a variation of an acronym for the feature we are promoting in the copy. Coin mixing total internet privacy and security. This is a real advertising strategy. in a month or two there may be a new feature or we want to claim a truth......tipping increases penis size. Ok sometimes we make up a USP. But it would work on a porn site mind you.

we now own using an acronym for our campaign. its easy and we can have fun with it. Being able to repeat an idea creates the brands identity.

What we need. A logo with an upside down fedora with TIPS at the top and the internet payment system on the outside. decorate with 101010101 too. The coin is silver. The logo must work as a tiny icon too, so it needs a little contrast

I don't know how to promote fedora the hat tip and what will average joes use it for. Buying hats?

People TIP in the real world and TIPSCOIN has a chance to be used by people that accept financial tips. Websites can add a TIPS button instead of a donation button.  I understand the Dev team are hard at work with coding, and stuff I have no idea about, but please let the community have a say in the promotion and branding.

Created by Fayens on bitcointalk. Its not a final logo for the unaproved tipscoin idea and its all open for discussion. An upside-down fedora hat is a nice way of showing a financial Tip and gives a tip of the hat to the old name.

from the looks I kinda like the upside down hat more, looks cooler to me somehow. Not the anonymous look on the second, though it would be a useful direction to go, but the first one looks more like the popular thing that the normal people would use especially that it's about tipping and daily use in restaurants and tipping internet contributions. And I must say I like The Internet Payment System more than the Total Internet Privacy & Security, cuz the second sounds a little awkward to me, and also what is Total?
I'm thinking about the internet payment system and what this really means, cuz right now BTC is the most popular currency and I don't think we want to replace it. But actually this slogan still makes sense, BTC might become the currency of savings, or maybe banks will use it for fast transfers and lower costs, so BTC will have a large value compared to dollar, but for everyday things on the internet like small value transfer (tipping) that will be happening on blogs or reddit or betting systems etc maybe this will be the actual market of TIPS and the slogan would make sense 100%. What are your thoughts, what markets can TIPS thrive in and become number one currency? we need to move their fast because it's all about the network effect.

ps. can somebody tell me about the scalability of TIPS, right now BTC network can process 7 transfers per second and it's a problem for future scaling, does TIPS have similar limitations?

I honestly think writing a lot here will not have a lot of impact... so we should start doing things and those who want to be involved into TIPS will follow.

I like the logo you stated above, I have nothing against, and at the same time I cannot make definite choice alone, but I can contribute- that's what I do. Before I started posting coin viz, not much was going on here.

I am preparing some graphics for people to use, to promote coin (because how to do this if we have nothing to show off?) and to motivate others.

I would be very happy if somebody made text with technical details and catchy- for promotion.

Every user will then use english version or translate to his own language.
Come on guys, we need help with these; as stated before- time frame is very short until we disappear in shadows.

Why we don´t take this awesome logo?

When we keep argue about the what TIPS should mean, we are not moving forward. While we discuss so much about this other coins come up with the same feature and nobody cares about who had it first.
They won´t even know we have it when we don´t start promoting. This Logo looks very nice and it´s solid. Total Internet Privacy Security is definitely not bad too and i like it a lot.

So why we don´t start bring this awesome feature out there before its too late.
I mean Logo contest? We already have a sick one!

When we start now and take this. We are not rushing. It´s fine. And it will work out.

And yes, maybe in 1 or 2 weeks we have a better slogan and a better idea but yeah, then we probably won´t be the only one promoting this feature.

Yep I agree with all that. I think the decisions should not be rushed but at the same time we have to get the name/acronym/logo stuff out of the way relatively soon so we can start promoting the coin itself. If we spend the next week or two just arguing over which combination of words should make up TIPS, we'll lose the opportunity to showcase how this coin differs itself from the 100+ shitcoins in circulation

If they still want fedora coin great but what do you think sally in 10 years will think of a fedora? Seriously, come on dev's I vote for our own coin... pm me for details, we can make our own TPC or TIPZ coin .. the peoples coin, where we help create it instead of them taking the best ideas to steal... just a thought..  if not go tips..

You're right, there should be a sense of urgency, but we shouldn't rush our decisions.  I agree with jdbcoin and i'm sure invisibel will also agree.  We have to do what's best for TIPS.... and edit: marketing discussion should be done through deliberation.  The more people invest their ideas and talents to TIPS, the more we will be solidified as a community.  This will then become a sustaining movement in a sea of clones.  Once this becomes a movement, the investors will see it, respect it, and start pouring in.
