Seems like I will need to make some modifications to get your code to compile on Linux.

Torcoin advertising campaigns are coming soon, as well as some bounties!

Sweet! Cool

I urge those to checkout the "tor" branch on http://github.com/carsenk/torcoin and test out the new tor integration Smiley let me know what you think

Branch "tor" is now available to those who would like to test out the new Tor integration with Torcoin Smiley

I will be adding some small updates here and there, so keep that in mind until I merge it into master. If you compile from this branch keep in mind you will be running version 1.1.0.0 instead of 1.0.0.0.

I will post when I have tested more and updated the onion seed nodes/merged the branch.

Thanks for your help on installing for Linux. It's working.

However I am not getting any connections. Its out of sync and says no connections in the bottom right hand corner. Is there a way to add nodes?

Yea if you are having issues connecting go into your hidden .torcoin folder in ~ or in your home folder and create a file called torcoin.conf

in torcoin.conf add:

Code:
addnode=100.33.157.128
addnode=106.51.233.0
addnode=107.131.90.12
addnode=109.195.131.233

Disobey.

And I stopped again, difficulty is much too high for my poor GTX 980.
My mining rig will be completed soon, but even then I think I will not try to compete with these ASICs.

Hashrate is only around 5 GH/sec right now, that card should get you around 2-3 MH/sec I would think, which isn't too bad to still do GPU mining (I have an R7 370 and I am getting around 1.5 MH/sec), a 9 MH/sec ASIC costs around 0.2 BTC and the 400 MH/sec ones cost around 1 BTC

Cmon, you can't be serious? I mean, with ideal settings I am actually getting 10 MH/s with my GTI 980, which is nice. BUT. The pools mostly only shows my card with 8 MH/s (even though my console window is reporting 10 - 10,5 MH/s constantly). Same effect with differenent miner: 8 MH/s in console window are only 6 on average in the pool maxminers.net/tor.

The main problem though: I have 8 MH/s on a pool with only 14 workers and a total of 8.7 GH/s. Which means I have less than 0,1% of the pools mining power (and rewards), although I represent 7,14% of miners or in other words I have less than 1/71th of the average power, which isn't much. Don't tell me this is profitable even if TOR gets a lot of attention and increases in price.
Well, I will be testing my Radeon R9 Nano tomorrow, but I don't expect any significant leaps.

Anyway, if I find the time to read up more on your project I might apply for German translation and/or post a blog article.

And thanks from me, too, on the Linux installing guide. I am pretty new to Linux and can make good use of that, too.

Working on finishing up the Tor integration today  Cool The Tor integration will be in the branch "tor" on the github for those that want to checkout the code and test it out, it will function on both the mainnet/testnet

I will more than likely be configuring Tor to utilize the ClientOnly=1 boolean. I will post here when the branch is committed.

The linux wallet doesn't work. Nothing happens after double clicking torcoin-qt.

Youll want to compile it then yourself, its fairly easy on linux. You need the require deps to build it. Use the guide below Smiley

Run this command to install the required dependencies in general for compiling torcoind/torcoin-qt:
Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool git autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils libboost-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev libzmq3-dev

Then do this command:
Code:
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev

Then install QT so you can use the command qmake in the next steps:

Code:
sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler libqrencode-dev

Then clone the github directory of torcoin onto your machine, cd into the folder and use the following commands to build the QT for Linux:

Code:
sudo qmake "USE_QRCODE=1" "USE_UPNP=-" torcoin-qt.pro

Then:
Code:
sudo make -f Makefile.Release

You may need to remove lines 19 through 34 from the torcoin-qt.pro file since you are building on linux and currently the windows compile deps are hardcoded in. Should build fine and should run great! Smiley Of course when your finished you'll be able to click on the torcoin-qt binary

Little update of the Torcoin network status currently

Price is cheap! Hashrate is decent still for GPUs! Low amount of TOR available.

Just wanted to bump this up, it looks like its going to be another day until further Tor Integration will be up on the git, once its up, you will be able to test it out on the testnet.

Also wanted to throw out a bounty if your paying attention here. 100 TOR to the next mining pool to add Torcoin Smiley (Must have at least 10 GH/sec of mining power on the pool in general already)

Also very cool to see Torcoin spreading globally! PM me for bounties for translations!

If you see this text and nobody else has quoted, quote it and PM me your TOR address, Little giveaway of 1 TOR Smiley

This appears to be a very promising coin, already started mining.

Let me know if you still need help, you can also reach out on the sgminer thread here on bitcointalk or ccminer thread.

TOR network is still going strong....lots of really cool things coming at the end of this week for Torcoin.

could you just send me what all things should i add in .bat file except  username and password
i have rx 480 card

Code:
sgminer.exe -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.maxminers.net:7433 -u username.workername -p passwordgoeshere -L log.txt
pause

Code:
[12:51:08] Started sgminer 5.5.0-nicehash-46
[12:51:08] * using Jansson 2.7
[12:51:08] CL Platform vendor: Intel(R) Corporation
[12:51:08] CL Platform name: Intel(R) OpenCL
[12:51:08] CL Platform version: OpenCL 2.0
[12:51:08] Error -1: Getting Device IDs (num)
[12:51:08] clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable
[12:51:08] All devices disabled, cannot mine!

i have GPU

Do you have the ATI AMD Drivers installed for your card? http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Does it show up under DX Diag? Assuming your on Windows go Start -> Run -> type "dxdiag" enter and look at the display tabs

see this i think it's installed

2 months is a long time between driver updates. I doubt that's the most updated version, but I Googled a bit and that version does come up. I use Nvidea so idk, but my Nvidea drivers update weekly or more often. The error you're receiving is usually caused by an old driver, in my experience.

Can anyone with an AMD card confirm if the last driver update was in February?
