nope i dont know why i cant stake using the latest release.. i downloaded v4.0.0.4 and i am now staking fine..

I don't know where your problem might be. The wallet can only be locked if you encrypted it first. So there is no way the wallet can be encrypted/locked after downloading and installing it the first time.

Switching between 4.1.0.1 and 4.0.0.4 back and forth has no influence on encryption either.

Anyways...it works for you, fine. Smiley

hi again..

i typed walletpassphrase $walletpasshere$ 99999 @ the debug rpc/console

which should unlock my wallet for staking.. but when i type that i get a RPC error..

also ive had TRI in my wallet for about 7 hours now.. and the triangle at the bottom of the wallet is still grey not red.. when i move my mouse over it .. it reads..   'wallet is not staking because wallet is locked..'

so youre telling me that i just need to have TRI in my wallet and it will auto stake?  not sure why mines isnt.. should i wait 12 hours? thanks again

Please create "triangles.conf" in %appdata%\triangles. If it already exists open it.

Add the following:

server=1
rpcuser=someuser
rpcpassword=somepassword

Save and close, restart the wallet. The unlock command will now work:

"walletpassphrase $walletpasshere$ 99999 true" (true=for staking only)

I should add the unlock option to the wallet GUI.

Hello Trianglers!

I bought some triangles on bittrex and they have gone up in price almost 50%

Should I sell now or wait?

I would hold them and keep staking if i were you. TRI is going to be worth a lot more than current price.

Did you use the bootstrap file or just let it sync on its own?

-As far as I know, the wallet is unlocked as default

hello all..

i am new to TRI

im trying to stake.. when i try to unlock lock my wallet via console i get the following error

Error: RPC server was not started, use server=1 to change this. (code -18)

i am on v4.1.0.1 black pharao..

am i missing something here? thanks in advance

What exactly do you type? And where?

You don't have to do anything within the wallet to enable staking. You need some TRI in your wallet with a coin age > 1 hour. Staking should start without further actions.

Great work as usual!! One thing I've noticed... In the debug console when typing a command, hitting enter closes the debug window. The command will execute but you have to go open the window back up.

wtf? yeah...lol..didnt notice that yet. i will fix this. thanks! Smiley

Looks good!

For any newbies, just stick the bootstrap.dat into your ~/roaming/triangles folder.  I just tried it.  It takes about 10 minutes to load and it gets you real close to the newest block.

This isn't important, but the fee dialog box is unthemed.  Also, when you redo the icons, see if you can make the send funds button stick out more.  For some reason, even though I should have known exactly where it was, I looked around for it a little.
Yep. I know about the fee dialog box. And the send button should be more prominent - agreed. Wink

*NEW!* download Windows wallet, v 4.1.0.1 "Black Pharao" BETA Release

Updated bootstrap.dat: bootstrap.dat

Some notes:

- Icons will be changed in final version
- All dialogs will probably get some kind of border in the final version. I am undecided yet.
- 2 dialogs (when confirming Transactions) are not fully styled yet.
- The "too much small inputs"-fix is ready but not included in this beta version. I want to test it a little further with my local wallet(s) to ensure the blockchain doesn't get stuck again with the implemented change of staking behaviour. It will be included in the final version.
- Make a backup of your wallet.dat prior to testing the beta version. There is no need to do that  - but having a backup is always good.
- You can switch back and forth between "Pharao" and "Black Pharao BETA" without having to restore or change anything in your %appdata%\Triangles folder!

Some additional notes:

- This release (as well as the final release) doesn't affect the daemon part of the wallet in any way - there is no need to use it. There will be no need to use it in the final version. "Pharao" (V 4.0.0.4) and "Black Pharao" (V 4.1.0.1) will peacefully co-exist.
- No MAC beta version, sorry.
- GitHub Sources will be updated when the final version will be released.
- Schedule for the final "Black Pharao" release: this year. Cheesy

If you notice bugs, errors and similar, please leave a note.

to your stations, man the pineapples!!!

just compiled daemon from current source.

i needed to create /src/obj folder
it didnt like "USE_UPNP=-"
and
i needed to change permission for /src/leveldb

Smiley

haha i thought it'd never finish !! woot
I didn't know you are trying to do that. Smiley

2 of those are rather common steps though. :p Dunno what might have been the problem with USE_UPNP. Will check tomorrow.

thought i may as well stake my coins Cheesy
yeh  i've come across the other two errors before. google saved me for the permissions .. pah linux permissions are a pain. lol

i'm using ubuntu 14.04 32bit i think.

Regarding the wallet: It's ready!!

Since my provider decided he wants to do maintenance this night (will also affect the blockexplorer and the seednode - expect 1-2 hours of downtime) I will upload it tomorrow morning @ work.
