Who do u refer to? Can u name a few of them that deserve to be called "generous". It could take less than 1 week for low tier exchange and more than 1 week to get to added to tier 1 exchange but anyhow if they could verified and proof that their plan could go long, guess within few weeks time it will be added to bittrex

Myetherwallet is user friendly very easy to set up a wallet and receive any kind of token it supported all tokens. I also use this one for ERC20 standard tokens.

Is the mist ethereum wallet address also ok?
If you own your private keys than it's ok to receive your tokens but Myetherwallet is more compatible wallet. You still have time to change your change wallet address into your dashboard.

you need to list the adress that only you know the private key. Don't list adress from an exchange.
You can create your private adress very fast on MEW ( my ethereum wallet ) and keep the private key safe
