Just a thought, would it be an idea for the dev team to also have a look at Aliencoin (ALN) ? That coin is also close to dead, no active devs. It would make a very nice pair, and don't most Aliens come in UFO's ?  Grin I just got this idea since DGC and ARG are also a pretty successful pair from the same dev. By the way, you'll find both UFO and ALN at http://dutchpool.org for mining at no fee at all  Grin
aliencoin is not worh of saving, too big premine, its has 50000 blocks premined

no need to answer to that... the guys just trolling Cheesy

Summersideguy,

Okay... try to convince some retailers to use it then. Everybody is giving ideas, few are actually doing something... Its everyone's responsibility to take part in this
We are of course targeting ufo related stuff right now.
You didn't understand a thing I wrote there.

Anyway 800K later in misc donations and paid bounties i am also done with this coin. What I have left I will liquidate and move on

bye bye. The coin will never be the same... Cry

do you have experience with that? Ive no idea how to promote videos on youtube

Lots of ways to promote yourself on youtube. Mainly you just stick to it - keep uploading content. You can also have contests, network with users from other channels, use all the social media channels facebook, twitter, whatever. Again main thing is that you stick to it.

are you willing to stick to it?

Right now UFO is plagued by the same problems as 90% of all alt coins:
1. It does not stand out any more then the rest

I must say the name, UFO, is good. It has long history and everybody knows what UFO means. People will talk about UFOs forever.

There is a dozen new alt coins created everyday, yes. How long will they live? UFO is here to stay! We are just witnessing the birth pains of a new altcoin here.

Doge is one of the few alt coins that made it to have value but it is one of the few alt coins you can purchase items with. Need a Buy/Sell/Trade forum on Website and maybe on here for UFO coins. It would also have to have a trust rating as to help reduce scammers.

Something else that would help is perhaps develop a gambling website for the coin where you can gamble them like in a casino, I wasted away many a bitcoin long ago gambling.

I have another idea but it is complicated. A retail website that takes UFO coin based on their BTC value. The website takes your coin but you as the website have no actual stock you just transfer the UFO to BTC then place the order from a BTC vendor for your customer. A good example is this dogecoin store I listed they do not have these items the just act as a middle man for you to use DOGE to buy from sites that sell items for BTC.
http://shopdoge.com/
If you notice when u go through the site they dont actually sell any of this stuff, they basically charge what the current btc worth of your coin is an d then they make the purchase from the BTC retailer and then send items to you.

Right now UFO is plagued by the same problems as 90% of all alt coins:
1. It does not stand out any more then the rest
2. There is a dozen new alt coins created everyday
3. Does not serve a definitive purpose, ie you cannot purchase goods and/or services for them.
4. Supply out weighs demand, and demand will not increase unless people can either see A.There is a profit to be made here or B.There is a legitemate use for this coin.
5. Interest will not pick up in mining if there is no interest in buying

I did try to contact Jim Marrs via the contact form on his site, but it gives me an error to try again later... any ideas how we can get the message to him another way?

Hi guys I am going to remove my donation address from Main Thread and put the community address donation wallet that will be used for exchanges. There is no point if someone sends me 500 or 1000 UFOs I can mine more than that in an hour with my R9 270. I want to know if cicahasa and iraszl feel the same so I remove their addresses and just keep one wallet there for payments for the exchanges.

People won't donate to devs and community managers, they just will do it for exchanges. We collected cryptorush 0.25 BTC pretty fast. Let me know.

Instead I will try to build my own rig to get my own UFOs.

News has been updated on http://ufo.notnull.org/ - The developer team requested I copy/paste a notice.

As an aside, I might migrate the wallet today because of the serious lag with findblock. This would result in a brief outage as I restart the stratum layer to re-connect. (listsinceblock is getting very laggy, usually I just change it out, and ideas?)

The donations are not for the devs. It's for the exchanges. They require us to pay to go up. But I see what you mean.

It might be my bad english, but I didn't know donations were for the exchanges. All I saw was "donate to the devs"  Undecided

YES! Its mostly the devs who are responsible for getting the coin on exchanges! The donations are not for cars and bitches as some of the greedy miners might consider...

The message is on notnull... if no attention is paid that would be very sorry... we will have to seek help from elsewhere... maybe from UFOS!

Sorry to rag on ya. Just don't look good. Do you think something like a weekly hangout can be done? It costs almost nothing but a few people's time. I'll kick in some coins to get subscribers.

I think it's an awesome idea. We should do it. I'm up for it.

Good. I'm thinking two hosts - guy and a chick preferably. Do we have anyone that wants to do this? Keep it will benefit the coin and you can pimp the channel for donations or even monetizing the videos with ads. I will gladly kick in 5k coins to get initial subscribers. I'll kick in another 5k to go towards some kind of contest.

Anyone else willing to put up some coins for this? If the coin goes sub 1 satoshi it is as good dead, so lets pony up and get something going.
