Not too late to get on the train now. This can easily reach LTC prices in 2018.

You can quote me on this later, but my projection for VIA is to reach 300k before the end of this year. This would give it a market cap of about $160 mln, which would make it reach the current #40 position on coinmarketcap. This will likely get more talent to join Romano in his quest to make this the most innovative coin out there.

In the small chance, this really gets picked up in 2018, I would not be surprised if we manage to reach the #20 position on coinmarketcap, with a value of about 0.01 btc.

Of course, we will see a lot of dips in between, so only the long term holders and buyers on dips will truly benefit.

(NOTE: This is mere speculation, but I had the same positive feeling about investing in GAME, Digibyte, LBC and Gulden, so feel pretty confident about it. Smiley )

Bittrex is slow, they can't handle the VIA traffic I guess  Grin

Send some VIA to Bittrex, wallets shows 13 confs, on bittrex deposite hasn't even shown up... 18 minutes and waiting...

Interesting that at the same time hashrate moves down. Who will support the network while almost all coins are mined?

Like anything it's best to keep records yourself as Exchanges can and do fold and banks may close your accounts, maybe not every little thing, but certainly all fiat transfers in to exchanges, any non-trivial trades & profits/losses, plus expenses if you one day plan to cash out and deposit a decent amount in fiat to a bank in a place where you'd need to declare it as gains or income for tax purposes.
Otoh, thank you for being so transparent with the community, it is much appreciated. Your story is fascinating. Smiley

If I may ask you two questions:
1/ Are you still buying viacoins at this price?
2/ At which market capitalization do you think VIA could be in a year from now?

The last viacoins that I bought were on the 8th June @ 0.00025000

I am more than happy to buy the dips at the present price and if anyone wants to exit a mid to large position then just PM me for a P2P sale np.

Re, future Market Cap, I've no idea, but just looking at the Via roadmap, hardware wallet / Segwit / LN / ANON are all huge events when they come through, so I'd say that it looking pretty rosy at the very least right now.

In fact this chart looks like maybe a good time to buy coming up, I'm traveling atm and afk a lot so may or may not get around to it though (no BTC on Polo), greetings from Glastonbury & happy Summer Solstice!

btw, I heard from my BTCC contact yesterday that they'll be adding DASH and some other Alts in a few months, I must ask them to make sure that VIA is on the list.

"Hi Otoh,

I apologize for the late reply. We haven't introduced DASH and the other alts on our exchange, but we're planning to do so over the next months. I'll let you know once we do.

I think someone might be gaming VIA. Double check your targets and maybe take some profits in order to buy back more at a later date?

Clearwallet.io being offline is an obvious handbrake to VIA's continued success, as long as people can't withdraw from clearwallet there will be a steady stream of complaints, and as VIA price goes up, their 'pain' intensifies.

+1
I invest in the VIA ICO way back when this coin started as a Counterparty clone with better block time etc

I had given up following VIA when the original dev abandoned, and only now realise the project lives on, but without clearwallet features on the current roadmap.

But how can guys like me get our VIA out of clearwallet.io now?

Please help dev!!

Reasons to invest in this coin? Why should a new investor buy VIA?

1.
2.
3.
etc

Please give your thoughts, and post it somewhere like Twitter, Facebook, and etc.

You can post what I'm about to say all you want on twitter but my main reasons for investing in VIA are the following:

#1. I discovered this coin back in October soon after Romano had first taken over the coin. Other than there being left over selling pressure from the previous developer leaving the project the coin was overall well developed. I remember talking to Romano about it and he was saying as a developer, he was pretty impressed with the way VIA was left. And in addition to that he had some interesting mechanics that he was planning to develop. I could tell he was pretty motivated and it seems like he still is.

#2. Romano explained to me the story of Otoh (who has recently been posted in this thread) and that he was a long term investor and planning to ride along with Romano as the new developer. It seemed they had some good long term investors along for the ride, and still do.

3. Unique community. The telegram chat is a fun place to hang around.

I continue to buy more VIA myself and recommend it to people I know. Have been for about 6 months now and still think it's one of the best places to part my money. I've made a lot VIA already but that really means I just have more to lose and I still buy more today.

i'm not and Investor in Via, but i must to compliments to Romano, for the tech  increase and the comunication.

Otoh story is Amazing hehehehe  Wink a Dream for everyone's

VIA is powering on today  Grin

Better safe than sorry, in Australia we can capitalise on our losses so we won't pay tax or income tax for that matter on the amount we have invested. If lets say I invested $50,000 and then took out $50,000 anything over $10,000 to the dollar is reported to AUSTRAC it's all about protection and anti-money laundering, the banks report everything and the taxation office knows all so there isn't any easy way to escape it.

Keep records as you can use this as your evidence, proof as such - otherwise you risk paying capital gains on your profits.

I am Ok with paying taxes. I just wish it was done in a different way. In some countries, they just tax it when you buy it and sell it. Just a flat tax...Maybe .01%.(buy and sell) Some just have no tax at all.
http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/front/archives/2015/11/18/2003632719. I am sure there are more like this.

Indeed... I wish in the US there was one tax rate for capital gains, and rather than having to mess around with each transaction, you could merely take all the gains and losses from the entire year and just do a single entry. Tax time is going to be a pain in the ass. I'll worry about it at that time. :\

VIA has caught up to my other 2 holdings that are nearby in marketcap, bitbay and blackcoin, making it my largest dollar value holding on poloniex.   There's still some big whales interested in this one.
