Viacoin will be merge mined so people who are mining LTC will be able to merge mine VIA as well.
Why they would do this? Just because it costs nothing? It also returns nothing.

because miners get via for free, and atm the value of mined via is in thousands of dollars, daily.

Yeah Romano from twitter
Ledger Dev on Twitter (@btchip) told me he would review the code I wrote for Viacoin Ledger support.

https://github.com/LedgerHQ/blue-app-btc/pull/5
https://github.com/LedgerHQ/ledger-wallet-chrome/pull/35

Edit: After that they will send me the cost.
I am not sure how long or short it takes for ledger to push a new update.

REALLY? I'm really trying to be patient here... Honestly, I'm not an asshole.
But, I've been researching and looking around from Hell and back to really ......if it is really solvable.
Thank you in advance.
It's syncing! Help, debug, command line. type in getinfo
that should give you the right block count. The new wallet will be released soon.

In other words, yes your wallet is syncing. It's a coin of 2014 so it has a lot of blocks.
If you use Mac OSx, less people are able to help you with that meme OS.

romanornr , who will support the network when there is no decent reward for miners?

Viacoin will be merge mined so people who are mining LTC will be able to merge mine VIA as well.  Network is over 1TH which is a decent amount for scrypt

Someone please where can I dowload a bootstrap file for this amazing coin?
Using a bootstrap.dat is no longer recommended (Unless it's an old coin).
Viacoin uses a new faster-synchronization feature.

‘headers-first synchronization’: The Viacoin Core Beta wallet first ask peers for block headers & validate those.
In the second stage, when the headers have been discovered, the Viacoin wallet downloads the blocks.
However, the wallet already know about the whole chain in advance, the blocks can be downloaded in parallel from all available peers.

Yes, it's an old coin. I have VIA coins in my wallet from 2015. So I need a botstrap.

Guys please, need a bootstrap or your data folder(exept the wallet.dat file)!

Totally agreed. Sync is running since one week and has worked through 30 weeks of transactions so far... I guess that makes the total sync time around one month... Sad

REALLY? I'm really trying to be patient here... Honestly, I'm not an asshole.

But, I've been researching and looking around from Hell and back to really find a decent answer to the 2 year and 45 week block syncing catch up problem. So far, I've seen several posts from other noobs, but no one from any of the team nor veteran users were able to answer for us noobs on how to CATCH UP with the block syncing without the ice age descending over us. Seriously, I may be stupid not looking in the right direction, but no one has ever pointed us to the right direction. AND we mostly all have the same story: We have significant amounts of Viacoins in Poloniex. We seriously want to take it off and protect it in a wallet. It's that simple. Viacoin QT in Mac OSx right now is syncing 2 years and 45 weeks behind. Really? A little help from the veterans here to solve this simple problem, if it is really solvable.

Thank you in advance.

anyone else having problem with Poloniex? I deposited VIA 24 hrs ago and haven't showed up yet, its showing 717 confirmations already.

I had the same a couple of days ago, it turned out to be that the transaction was not broadcasted to the network at all, how a transaction can show confirmations while it has not been broadcasted is something I can't explain.
You can take a look with the block-explorer if the TXID exists on the network, which in my case it didn't.

I solved it by reverting back to wallet ver. 0.10.11 and a doing a zapwallettxes, the coins that were in limboland came back in my wallet and I did another deposit. Another possibility is to push the raw transaction on the network via another wallet, you have to use another wallet otherwise you will get a message that the transaction already exists.

I have the impression that this problem occurs when there is a bad connection to the network at the time you send the transaction and close the wallet afterwards.

Like the dev. said on the Telegram app it is probably safer to use the ver. 0.10.11 wallet till the issues with ver. 0.13.2 are solved, which is a beta version anyway.

Any chance on getting a mac binary for vialectrum?

I got it to work after a LOT of fiddling around, it would be much MUCH nicer to have a binary to download, especially for the less tech savvy mac users.

Hello
For anyone wondering if it's too late to jump in, check my post history to see I've been in this thread + the old VIA thread since Romano got on board. I'm a top holder of VIA and I was probably buying more VIA yesterday than anyone else. Part of it was to simply knock down some sell walls but I believe enough in the long term success of this coin I don't mind paying 0.00085 for some more VIA even though I first started buying around the .00003 area.
