Its running very stable here. A very annoying thing is that its broadcasting incomming transaction several times. It should just be one time.
All blocks still shows immature. 6 block mined.

If you are connected to 8 peers the log will print 8 transaction broadcasts. The wording is misleading.

Coinbase mature's after 200 blocks they are spendable. Proof-of-Stake starts after ~12 hours worth of blocks.
what;s the total amout?

Ok, I've made test network binaries for Windows 32, Windows 64 and Mac OS X. You MUST delete any previous Vanillacoin directories.

Testing Details:

The block generation time has been sped up for testing by a factor of almost 3. The only problem I could see arise is blocks start being generated too quickly as more peers join the network because my test network is very small this remains unseen because the complexity of the algorithm is too much to simulate at this point. Either way I have a solution to the problem should it arise. Let's test.

You can download the binaries here:

No desire for help from linux folks?

My linux box is extremely slow but compiling now. I will update the original post when it's ready.

What's the difference between Blocks Total and Blocks Estimated?  I've been showing 37 blocks estimated for at least 20 minutes.

Edit: it moved

It looks good on my economic processor 64 bit. I just mined a block. I have 5 connections.  On the other hand on my I7 the program crashes when started. No writing to the roaming folder.

Now I have 3 block mined.

I've updated the launch date. I will be pushing out test binaries in the next several hours. If testing goes ok the release date stands if I have to continue fine tuning it may be pushed back until after the weekend. Cool

its 5:30am GMT on the 19th looks like were pushed back?
also with the "farness" in the algo are you suggesting we mine with 1 thread as opposed to 4 or 8 or 12
Yes that is a very good question and I appreciate someone asking that Smiley

from the website:   × Launch will start December 19'th 2014 at 5AM UTC.

dev says it doesn't matter! asic, gpu, 172 cores, all the same

After over one year in the making I am pleased to announce the upcoming beta release of Vanillacoin.

Vanillacoin was engineered from the ground up and is designed to be innovative and forward-thinking. It prevents eavesdropping and censorship, promotes decentralized and energy efficient network transactions.

There is no pre-mine, pre-sale, IPO, ICO or BS.

Launch will start December 15'th 2014 at 5AM UTC approximately 5 minutes before genesis block timestamp.

For white paper and more information: http://vanillacoin.net

The test network is running good so I will take a moment to address some confusion I've seen.

There are a few people claiming that the Proof-of-Work algorithm was not invented by myself. The people that did not read the white paper are the most likely candidates to say such non-sense. The algorithm is Whirpool http://www.larc.usp.br/~pbarreto/WhirlpoolPage.html XOR'd to reduce the 512 bits into 256 bits without any truncation. I refer to this algorithm in code as "whirlpoolx" because of the final XOR process.

Thank you for your support.

I've been following you john-connor way back from the future past, the Terminator is coming hahaha, nah with that aside I have been following this thread from the start and it all looks good, great commitment to your coin just make sure everything is down pat, labels and all included !

I look forward to mining this new Algorithmic coin Smiley

Ok, I have made one final change to the solo mining fairness algorithm in attempt to make it more fair and fix block timing issues related to difficulty fluctuation. Preliminary tests shows that 3 test machines manufactured roughly 2 years apart each generated 3 blocks out of 9 blocks total. I am going to run a larger scale test to see if block generation time stays within bounds and distribution is good. If that succeeds we will do a public test and watch for these specific issues and fix them if required. I have high confidence. Cool

Thank you for your support.
