Testing Update:

I've made changes to the solo mining fairness and Proof-of-Stake algorithms. The blockchain MUST start over this round of testing. You MUST delete the contents of the Vanillacoin directory or the software will throw an exception and crash. With the changes made you should not expect your first block for at least one to four hours from the start of mining. Restarting your client will slow down this initial process. Proof-of-Stake now begins after 8 hours after block maturity and has been made more energy efficient. Also, I have added greater protection from Bot Nets or people who rent hundreds or thousands of servers to try to game the system.

You can download the binaries here:

Thank you for your support.
So this again is another testing mining phase thingy? We wont be able to keep any of our coins that we mine from this right? We won't be able to actually start keeping the coins we mined until the actual launch on december 23rd right? at 5am? I just wanna make sure I'm clear about this here Smiley

Has anyone tried running 32 bit version for longer time, like 24 hours or longer? My older laptop restarted while I was at work while newer one with 64 bit OS works fine. I'm 90% sure that older laptop didn't overheat. Haven't started stacking yet, First block was mined ~16 hours ago.

@Dev - I have some nice suggestions about GUI, I could make a maket in Visual Studio and just a plain layout in c++ if You want. P.S. I know that coding GUI in c++ is pain in the ass Cheesy

My old laptop is running about 24 hours without any problems. win7/32.

I have 4 orphaned blocks.

Staking should have kicked in by now I think. Please correct me if Im wrong but is it not 12 hours after matured coins? I mined the first block 16 hours ago.
Eligible 12 block hours after they have matured yes but it will take a bit longer before staking actually occurs. This is why we are testing more so we can be sure I did not break Proof-of-Stake with the new solo-fairness algorithm which depends partly on stake.

Some people think they aren't staking because their wallet is locked because of a "placholder" icon but nobodys wallet is locked because there is no user interface option to do this to do this yet. The core supports this however.

Be patient and and don't send too many coins or you could send some that are almost eligible.

Thank you for your support.
Ok
I understand. I was thinking that it started up in locked position.

We also need to have a option to encrypt the wallet before launch.

Thank you for your good work.
