Hi, I am following this thread with lots of interest and I was assuming that one usecase of WiCoin is sharing WiFi also via smartphone (tethering) - mobile WiFi sharing so to say.
From the posts above I learnt this is not planned. I am not a technical expert but from the usecase point of view this would give a lot of opportunities to grow  Cool
Maybe it is possible sometime that a user is automatically redirected from one mobile hotspot to another mobile hotspot in case the initial hotspot is deactivated/out of reach, etc.
Just an idea Wink Keep up the good work,
Cheers!

A Super Project. When Focussing on partnerships with cafes still can be even Greater. I looking forward for the Presale.

I don't think so. WiFi in cafes are free for clients, why would they use WiC ?

But I have one question Lambo06.

Can I share my 3g/4g via WiC while converting my smartphone to a WiFi spot ? It could be interesting, imagine I have 100 go of data and I just use 20go per month, I could share 80go of data every month in public spaces.

Hey, no because that won't really be usable since you would probably be carrying your phone around and not keep it in one place. Also, the range would not be very good.

Ok, and a system like, you are in an airport waiting for your plane, the airport wifi is fucked up (happens everytime). You share your 3g/4g via WiC. Your position is given via the map, you can't move while sharing, and it is precised it's a 3g/4g connection that is shared.

Maybe the system could work differently for this type of connexions, like the owner of the connection receive a notification like : Person A wants to use your connection for 10minutes, do you accept the transaction ? 50% Given at the beginning of the contract, 50% given at the end. Like this if the owner moves before the 10 minutes, Person A just paid 50% and can leave a bad rating, and if person A moves before the 10 minutes, the owner can leave a bad rating for the user, saying he moved before the end.

Well, that's just an idea, maybe it is really hard to create. But sometimes you just want internet to fast check messenger and mails for 5 minute.

You raise an excellent point my friend. Maybe a feature for temporary WiFi access, one with a time stamp, based on the what ever the limitation may be. This will let any potential users know before hand.
I really think that this issue should be addressed.

Hey so we already have an update planned that will allow users to set a minimum and maximum time and data limit for the network. This will also be displayed to the buyer.

I am fully for what you have to offer in giving your potential customers some relief in the form of high transactions fees they are paying using WIC Token.

They all feel as if they are being taken advantage of by these other Internet Service provider.
So I do hope you and your WIC token do wish to alleviate us all from these higher than normal transactions fees.

Man, are you high ? Quite an utopic vision  Cheesy

To respond honestly, 3g/4g are essential, wifi-sharing does not focus on the same market. When I'm in deplacement for work I need 3g/4g when I'm constantly moving (Taxis, trains, meetings in town), but sometimes I need a good wifi when I need to downloads some importants files (Photoshop files, videos etc ...) and that's when WiC comes in.

Cheesy nothing wrong with being high. Lot's of ICO starts in that status.
WiC will indeed be used when you need a good stable wifi in an unknown place. I think users of WiC will expect that. Users that will share there wifi wont be doing it for 5 mins or when they are walking. Users will start WiC when its profitable.

Time to start the presale Wink

Weekly shares updated for participants upto August 8. If you are in red, it means you did not complete the requirements for the bounty (most common reasons are you did not pin our tweet or had a ton of sock puppet accounts). If you feel that is a mistake, please PM me.

Thanks!

That is not what we are having at the moment at least. And it will probably be useful in a very few cases since 2 parties will be required to be in close proximity at the same time.
