How do you say it's not effective?
I think the project has collected a good amount which can be use to start to develop the project.
They may not collect a good amount of contributions through crowd sale but once they show results people will invest.

I think Soccer Manager is just promoting their game to their existing fanbase, sort of introductionary thing into crypto perhaps.

We planned to have some blockchain game prototypes for Q3 - but we should now have at least 1 full game released Treat Fighter, and possibly Soccer Manager Crypto Beta.

We''ll also still be working on proof of concepts as well

Wow, awesome, this must be one of the first to implement this in an easy to use way. Not that I promote fiat currencies but it is still good for people to have multiple options or who don't have exposure properly to crypto yet.

Escrow isn't needed with Chimaera. Atomic Transactions (page 14 in the White Paper) guaranteed fraud-proof trading/exchanges.

Escrow is just a trusted 3rd party. Chimaera eliminates the need for any trusted 3rd parties.

So, you can buy, sell, or trade however you like.
