Soo........How much does forging actually make? and do you need 1000 XEL in your wallet?

The technology looks good for the coin according to many sources. Has there been any major uptake or applications to date? I am not sure whether I want to go further on this one. It showed a lot of promise but is sort of just sitting there in terms of price after a 50% drop. Tongue

Forging works like in NXT - all fees go to forgers, and there's no block reward.
Computation part will enable profits from mining.

Forging with 1000 XEL won't give you too much profit, but you'll be helping the network.

I've got a question for EK...

What's your favorite thing about Elastic and the possibilities that you see XEL being used for in the mid-long term future ?   Enjoyed the Youtube video you put together showing one use case.

I have a question on Elastic PL.  Will SHA256 and other public encryption functions in the src/nxt/crypto folder be available as ElasticPL Built-In functions?  Else, we have to rebuild these functions from scratch with the EPL native operators - ugh.

BTW, the link to the GitHub for "More Elastic PL" on elastic.pw is broken and needs to be updated.

Any links ? (not videos if possible)

Thanks!

How come this project has such high marketcap ? Seems to me that only on dev can not compete with, the Golum team or SONM team.
What am I missing ? thx in advance
you are missing the part that only handful of devs can actually develop real p2p distributed supercomputer network, and it happens that of those very few two or more contribute to this open source project called elastic. They (anonymous xel devs) are not doing it because of money or fame but because they want to give us this technology and it happens they choose elastic above others.

You absolutly right. In crypto world not much people who want to do somethink great. I think this project is most perspective in all most.

I suggest you spend some needed time reading older posts here and info from the website.
In general, this project is way ahead in development compared to any of the other projects you mentioned. The system is highly flexible and will allow a wide array of use cases to be written in Elastic's language (ElasticPl).
In regard to the number of devs this project has: 1) it has more than 1 dev,  2) what matters is the state of development and actual progress, 3) read above stated points again.
The market cap is actually very low taking all the points mentioned. You will find that out soon enough once a working system rolls out (and yes, patience is always needed).
Good luck if you chose to support any of the other projects.

Hi everybody

Can someone just explain me in short and easy words (WP is to abstract for me) if it makes sense to run a masternode? I mean here on economical terms.
I hold 1040 XEL on Bittrex. It’s enough to run a node?

Should I always have a PC (or raspberry) running?

What kind of return can I expect?

Thank you in advance and sorry if my question was already posted (not easy to find an info in this huge thread….)

Firstly there are no masternodes as such right now - I think you mean forging. There is no easy way to answer that but it takes so little effort to do it that you may as well give it a go and see what you get.

Looking for shmexy coins!
Everybody on twitter is so excited about XEL. Supercomputers sound great. People might even start using them to help with AI calculations and other scientific work. The future is really bright.
