@zettelkasten Hello, can you tell us in which version the external miner will be presented, will it be an application that is connected to work in the pool, or will it require a running and unblocked local wallet? Just now, the miner built into the local wallet requires unlocking the wallet for mining, which of course does not add security for storing coins. Thanks.
No pools with zettelkasten. (we use spreadcoin's pool-prevention-feature)
With the upcoming external CPU miner you will mine through RPC, directly using your local node (but it's possible to mine to an external wallet, but not recommended)
An unlocked wallet is only required if you don't use a fix miningprivkey (mining towards a single address whose privkey is stated in the conf file)
For example, you can use a miningprivkey that isn't even part of the wallet.dat of the associated local wallet.
It's your job to provide necessary security to your local network, not zettelkasten's.
The idea is that once coins have been mined you consolidate them AWAY from the miners to a secure address.
If you want maximum security for your mined coins, put them on paperwallets as quickly as possible
Thank you
EDIT: and yes, zettelkasten is solo-mining only. We offer mining on the testnet (BURGER) to users with weak hardware who struggle finding blocks on mainnet. They can then trade testnet coins for real ZTTL, see here:
