Don't wanna sound negative or anything but if we don't get any news from Mike soon I would start preparing for the worst...
Let's give SYNC another 2 weeks, then the 90 day period of rental program ends... Mike has been good for us so far so he might actually come up with something great again

It's not like SYNC needs something else... It's pretty great at it is. Obviously news are always welcome, but I'd just like to hear from Mike saying what's up with the silence.

Thanks Cor2,
Still no go on the syncing....  Sad
It looked promising, but then it just stopped all of a sudden and now its just falling behind at block 1599.
There are 62 connections to the network too, not sure whats the deal.
That does not sound good.
With the zip file downloaded and unpacked in the AppData/sync directory, you should start somewhere at 380,000 block or so
because that is where I made the zip. Today we are at 395,000 blocks.
Are you sure that you downloaded the correct SYNC wallet version 1.1.0.0 from the first page of this thread?
I believe that the incompatible NiteSend wallet also has this same version number, but you can't download it any longer.
With the provided .conf file in the zip you will get about 6-7 connections to the network - that is what I get.
Success!

I will include a simple password on the ZIP so it can't be compromised easily: open with my screen name.

I ended up using WeTransfer, the uploaded ZIP file will disappear after 1 week,
so grab it and unzip it in the AppData/SYNC directory.
It contains the txleveldb database subdirectory of the block chain; the block index file blk0001.dat and I also included sync.conf for convenience.
All you need to do is to unzip this whether you have a clean install or an existing wallet where you deleted everything except your wallet.dat.
If you have a clean installed wallet and wants to go back to your existing wallet, all you need to do is:
- clean install of wallet and start it once (it will not synchronize, no problem) then close it
- go to the new created AppData directory and unzip the file I posted
- copy your old wallet.dat file over the new (empty) wallet.dat in the AppData directory
- start the wallet application again, now it will see the block chain and your wallet, it will re-scan the block chain and show you your balance once it is done, then it will synchronize the last hours/days since the moment that I created this file.
Success!

That may work!  You don't think that would cause any weird wallet issues?
The block chain is not affected by the wallet, the block chain is what the majority vote of all wallets produce and your own
wallet is just a window into the block chain, showing the balance and transactions that the wallet found in the block chain for the
addresses that you hold (in your wallet.dat).
So, I have in the past copied the block chain from one computer to the next to install a new wallet (for the same coin obviously)
on the second computer. The wallet will re-scan the block chain for the addresses in the new wallet.dat and then keep the
block chain synchronised from the end. It often saves a day of synchronizing.
Recently I had to re-synch a wallet that had well over 1 million blocks. Took a *very* long time, so I am making sure to keep a
backup of the block chain every week or so - simply stop and close the wallet, go to the AppData directory,
create a "backup" subdirectory and copy everything from the AppData into the backup. If you get a failure in the block chain database,
all you need to do is copy everything back from the backup and you need to synch maximum 1 week instead of many months of blocks.
I will go to my other PC and make a ZIP, then see where I can store it that you can download, dropbox or so and then post the link here.
I will include a simple password on the ZIP so it can't be compromised easily: open with my screen name.

Hmmm.  Removed all items from Appdata Sync except for Wallet and reopened Sync wallet and downloaded for several hours.  But now stuck on 37911.....
Anymore ideas?    Huh
I could try ZIP my block chain and post it on a server so you can download it, unZIP into your AppData directory and start from a
completely sync'ed database - I need to back up my block chain anyway to avoid a full day re-sync the next time that my
computer decides to take a dump and I need to re-install the wallet or delete the block chain.

Anyone having issues with SYNC wallet stuck around 37502?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!   Tongue
it's happen to me also but deleting all files in Appdata folder except wallet.dat and re-sync will be good and it's solve your problem for sure Smiley
One thing i found that creates problems is having a too big log file. Once i deleted the log file which was over 2gigs some problems disappeared.
This might not relate to your problem directly, but i found that it fixes errors and its an easy and safe fix.
The log files are in the AppData directory, ending in .log, just delete them, you save space too Smiley
I had a computer crash earlier this month and then my backup computer also crashed its hard drive,
so I had to go back to my memory stick where I stored the important data (the wallet.dat) and after
re-installing the sync wallet on a new hard disk, I copied the wallet.dat from memory stick over the empty wallet and let it sync to the network. I had to create a new sync.conf also (see one page back) to connect to 4 other wallets.
Then it got stuck about halfway and even after rebooting the computer and seeing it connect to 4 other nodes again, it still did not
progress, so I had to delete the block chain in the AppData/Sync directory and start from zero again. This time it worked.
So - have patience and persistence and you will get a working SYNC wallet ;-)

This issue happens as that it is not connecting to the network.

Sync will be fine. Mike seems very keen to make it go big. Patients is the key. Like with any investment. Especially if he starts paying dividends anything close to what he's been promising.
