Sync Rental Update

A few notes/changes to note before the Rental program officially opens at midnight tonight:

1. ALL current Whales and Profits/Renters must submit an application to the new program. Do so now if you haven't already, time is running out.

http://syncfund.com/stake/stake.html

2. Lease Period has been changed from 45 to 90 days to ONE to 90 days. That's right, it could close at any minute. More fun that way. Also keeps the markets guessing.

3. You'll be paid for all the coins staking on the Closing Date. You can increase or decrease the number of coins as long as you don't fall below three.

4. Win a Bitcoin! We'll be running our new algo that randomly picks winners from the Renter list. It's a weighted system so the more Sync you have, the better your odds of winning. Our first giveaway is a full Bitcoin.

We're very excited about the program moving forward, very excited about your participation. Cheers

Updated: http://syncfund.com/rental.html

Money Quote: "Renters can increase or decrease the number of coins in the wallet during the Lease Period, noting that the Closing Date will come without notice. That is the risk, you don't know when it will 'close'."

So the trick is to get IN to the Rental program while enrollment is still open and then keep at least three coins to remain active.

Enrollment will close tomorrow night at 1159pm CDT.

http://syncfund.com/stake/stake.html

If you are still open to suggestions I would consider random prorated payout periods anywhere from 1-90 days.  As it stands right now, one could manipulate the market down knowing one has at least 45 days to work with before returning ones wallet to a healthy coin level.  We might actually be seeing this as the price has dropped a little since the announcement.  Just thinking this might be another carrot to help keep us honest with our staking.

Let's say the budget is for $30/coin over the next 90 day period.  You might pay 17/90ths ($5.67)  on day 17, 42/90th ($14.00) on day 59 (IE 42 days past day 17) then declare a new closing date at say day 75 of the period with a budget balancing payout at the new closing date of (($30 x 75/90) - $5.67 - $14.00 = $5.33.  Then start it all over again. If your payouts are automated this might make sense, if they are manual then maybe it is too time consuming.  This would make me think twice about having any serious number of coins on the exchange.  Also if your data shows that the payouts are being reinvested in SYNC then releasing the payouts more frequently might help support and even out the the price.

Clear as mud?!?
Just my 2 SYNC's worth....

You spoke, we listened. Lease period changed to ONE to 90 days - so it could happen at any minute. You are correct it is better to keep the market guessing.

So the trick is to get IN to the Rental program while enrollment is still open and then keep at least three coins to remain active.
Do the coins need to be in the wallet address for a certain time before I can enroll?
I moved my coins into my wallet address 1 hour ago.
I try to register with the same details as that I already used for the profit sharing (I moved my coins back)
but I get the message "You dont have 3 SYNC" in a red box every time I try to submit.
Using the block explorer, I can see that I *do* have more than 3 SYNC in the address that I am trying to register...
Do the coins need to be mature (6 hours old) before I can register? Or is there a bug somewhere?
Note that in order to try and avoid "cached" old results to interfere, I even tried to re-register with a different browser
but this had the same result.
Update: Re-tried submit today with the same info and it was accepted.

YoungG,

Just to be clear, are we locking in whatever coin amount is sitting in our registered wallet address at the closing date and time (November 20, 2014 at 11:59pm CDT)?  And we have to guarantee that whatever that amount is, we CAN NOT let that address go below this amount at anytime during the rental period or we will be disqualified from payment.

Is there any leeway if we make a mistake and correct it immediately?

Depending on Mike's answer I would caution people to be careful about making any mistakes when moving coins etc.  It could be very costly!

Sync is a grand experiment and thus we rely on feedback, remain flexible to the needs of holders.

In that regard, we listened and have made a change.

Previous guide called for Renters to be paid for the number of coins in the wallet IF they did not fall below their "locked" number.

That is changing, we will now lock in MEMBERS on the Closing Date - and pay for the coins in your wallet at the END of the period, the next Closing Date, which is kept secret.

So it doesn't matter if you have more or less coins, you'll get paid for them - all long as you don't fall below 3 Sync and are enrolled in the program before tomorrow night.

As I said, this is based on YOUR feedback, which we are more than willing to listen to.

Make sure you get yourself enrolled before midnight tomorrow night:

Thanks again for being a holder, cheers, Mike
