Exactly. The blockchain actually has been somewhat stabilized, transactions just can take a couple hours to get through. There's no risk of losing your 1CR if you send it through the blockchain though. We're moving full-speed ahead towards our online arcade, set to release on October 20th!

?? Is there a new blockchain? The one I'm on has the last block from 4 days ago, at height 59729. Current difficulty is about 6000

So everybody is eagerly waiting for 20th October big news. But as somebody above mentioned, the stable blockchain needs to be a priority.

Just want to make clear I won't EVER support a 1CR fork with PoS.

The intention of this coin is to be a decent PoW coin with 1 credit per block. We can change a lot, but emission schedule and the use of PoW will never change.

Note that I suggested PoS with a fixed 1CR reward, which is not the same as "normal" weight based PoS - the block reward is 1 regardless of whether you last started your client yesterday, or 3 years ago. It's a mined block of fixed reward, not a variable interest payment.

So it's not a case of "the rich getting richer", more like, "anyone who holds a balance can mine."

Now, assuming you did understand that, why are you against PoS?

because it's stll the "rich getting richer", which is silly:
outsiders need to buy into this coin to participate, meanwhile insiders just make their balance go up by "mining" with PoS

also, PoS jut can't work because stake grinding attack for example. It all comes down to PoW eventually. PoS is just BS.

I'm suggesting hybrid PoW/PoS, not just PoS only. People with mining equipment/software can mine via PoW, or people can choose to buy and stake via PoS, or do a combination of both.

With a fixed reward PoS behaves just like PoW - the network mints (on average) a known number of blocks and credits each day. You don't earn interest on interest, just the right to compete with others to mint a new 1CR block.

Y'know PoW has attack vectors, too. Wink

Okay, I'm glad to hear that you're on top of that. There is so much potential for collaborations and partnerships with other online gaming arcades once the blockchain has switched mining algos. I'm looking forward to it.

as I said already, to "stabilize the blockchain", we need a CPU friendly algo so people can just mine the coin using the wallet. if it becomes more valuable, maybe GPU's jump on board, but if they drop off, CPU will need to be able to take over without a huge delay. The only practical way forward, imho, is implementation of a proven CPU friendly algo, such as cryptonight.

I will repeat it again: I am looking into how to do it, but this will take time.

Just catching up on the more recent pages in this thread...

So 1CR deliberately had a difficulty algorithm with wild variation to try to make it difficult for multipools to jump in and out at will, but then the dev was scratching his head and wondering why the blockchain was so unstable, and has now left?

Code:

04-Oct-2016 01:06:53 height: 59118  difficulty: 1.60244028  tx: 1

04-Oct-2016 01:06:49 height: 59122  difficulty: 0.00024414  tx: 1

It really is all over the place - staying relatively stable for several blocks, then suddenly leaping from 95 to 5118 in the space of 8 blocks, then dropping back to minimum difficulty a few blocks later (an even more massive change).

I think adding PoS could help, since it will allow the network to continue to carry transactions when PoW difficulty is stuck at a high level. It would also make PoW attacks more difficult. A fixed PoS reward of 1CR would ensure that the supply stays linear, and more consistent (since PoS is far less likely to get stuck)

That is EXACTLY what we need. We need someone with blockchain knowledge who can help us fix this. Is that you, or would you please be able to direct us to someone who can? There is a strong 1CR community, full of people who are able to help us test and code games, write blog posts etc. All we need is a stable blockchain and we're golden.

We're taking alphatesters for our first arcade game! If you're interested, please email [email protected]. You will have first access to the game and help us evaluate and improve all features.

Also, we need to get the blockchain stabilized as soon as possible. I'm discussing a partnership with gaming site that has focused on paying out bitcoins in the past, but they have ran into some difficulty working with bitcoin lately. They would like to switch over to 1CR, but we need to ensure that our blockchain is stable enough to handle frequent transactions.
