Please answer the following the questions I have regarding the Asiacoin QT wallet:

I currently have my wallet encrypted and unlocked for staking, however when I want to send coins the wallet sends them without asking for the password. I used the "walletpassphrase" command to set this up.

1. I want it so that the wallet is encrypted, able to stake, AND requires the password to send coins. Is this possible?

2. I've also heard that you can unlock the wallet for a time, wait for it to sync, and then lock it again...and then in this case it will still stake? Is that true?

100 Doge bounty for anyone who can provide the solutions to these problems!!

Many Thanks!

1. Encrypt the wallet using password
2. Then in the settings choose unlock, type password let it sync

PoS should start today so after 2 weeks from today, open your wallet go to settings>unlock and let it sync...done

PS: Check my posts, there is how to

Thanks for your reply, just to be clear: In order to stake, I should unlock the wallet after encrypting it and syncing it and then just quit the QT?

I'm wondering if it is safe to keep the wallet unlocked like that, since you can send coins from the wallet if it is unlocked and encrypted without the password.

Is the wallet still safe if it is unlocked and offline?

Thanks

Unlock the wallet and leave the QT running. It will not stake if you quit. I'm not sure how long you need to keep the wallet open in order to earn all of your "interest", but I believe you should open it fairly frequently (every few days, maybe weeks?)

Even after unlocking the wallet your coins are safe, since you still have to re-enter your password before you can send coins.

For me, my wallet says it is "encrypted and unlocked" in the bottom right hand corner. When I send coins, it still doesn't ask me for my password! I did the whole encrypt first then debug window walletpassphrase thing in the console, but I still can't get it to be encrypted, unlocked, and requiring a password to send coins...maybe because I'm on a Mac and I have the old wallet 1.0.0.0?

it won't ask you after your password when it says "encrypted and UNLOCKED". you can click on "Lock wallet" in the Settings. and then it will be "encrypted and LOCKED". then it will ask you for password.

I downloaded the wallet for macOS again but in the debug window it says the client version is 1.0.0.0
it's definitely the old one lol
Any news for this upgrade -i "please" should do- for OS Users like me??  Huh

ur right mac wallet not updated

doesn't matter as the update only contains the new checkpoints & an update for an transaction issue.
so no hard fork or any other mandatory stuff is implemented in 1.0.0.1.

you can easily compile the new version on your mac. just follow this steps:

install xcode.
clone the sources to your mac.
install homebrew OR macports.
install the dependcies which are needed for scrypt coins via ports/brew.
run qmake and make.
done.

I think what you say is "easily" is not the same I'd say it is  Grin
No; just joking. Really thank you for the explanation! Now i'll try it...so let's start to laugh

ok. if you can wait untill tomorrow i will make a detailed step by step tutorial for you.
it s really not that hard. it s just installing some stuff and then running some commands in the
terminal. if you can join IRC i could give you realtime assistance on building the OSX wallet.

have a nice day!

The niceness in this forum is just amazing!!!!! Real people HELPING Real people.

As i wrote (editing) my previous post I surely can wait tomorrow if it's not mandatory for PoS. I was just screaming and yelling "heeeeeeeelp" because I thought I needed it or all my AsiaCoins would explode with my macbook and I couldn't enjoy the PoS  Grin

Note on ac.pool.mn home page:

Dear Miners,
We are planning to set up multipool for AsiaCoin and it will start to operate immediately after the POW stage. You don't have to do anything, just keep your hashes on our pool after POW stage and you will continue receiving AC to your wallets.

POOL.MN

Great!! Good JOB. cheers!!

POOL.MN have posted a new announcement on the landing page...

Dear Miners,
Please use ac-mining.pool.mn domain to connect to our pool, i.e. stratum+tcp://ac-mining.pool.mn:7219 in your config settings. You can keep using the old domain (ac.pool.mn) as well, but in order to be able to better prevent potential future DDoS attacks it is preferable that you connect to the new domain.
Thank you

great i just saw it.
i was using a chinese pool. so haven't seen that.
thank you for the information.
we just need all other AC miners to be informed.
otherwise just link your miners to the coins you think they are most profitable ant
exchange them for AC. So we all will be "mining" AC and pushing the price.

BTW - does anybody know what the dev means with "Fix the bug of Transaction" in the 1.0.0.1 update Huh?

on the first post it says: We will postpone the launch date of multipool, there're still some bugs need to be fixed.

what does it mean?? mining is almost over. and 'multipool' is that bad thing which steals coins from miners...

sorry for the stupid question

DEV will launch a multi pool where we minig the most profitable script coins, DEV will sell automatically for BTC
then with BTC will buy ASIA COIN - in this way the price will rise very much  Grin 0.0009  Grin

this is the best that can be done  Grin

at this point, for people who have failed to include in time just like you  Grin

DEV is a great
Tomorrow expect a new update wallet  Grin

there are no stupid questions!
stupid questions DON'T exist!

many people don't know the correct definiton of multipool.
and often people mix it with a pool that supports autoswitch to the most profitable coin, etc..

but in this case the multipool is going to be a pool where miners can link
there hashingpower. it then redirects the hashingpower to any other
high profitable coins. let s say for example LTC and then use this LTC
to buy AsiaCoin. So we will be able to "mine" AC after PoW ends. And we will
push the price at the same time.

i hope you know now what this means. if you have another question don't hesitate to ask!

have a nice day,
goldmann

oh yeah, sure I know what it means. I even suspected it will mine AC with other coins

thank you very much for explanation, mate!

A couple of notes to mention.
#1 Kudos to AC for cracking Top 25 mkt cap  in your 1st 2 weeks
#2 I feel it's VERY VERY important to have the multi-pool running at the end of pow stage.

In this case the multi-pool is a good thing, it mines other profitable coins and sells them at market for BTC then buys AsiaCoin at exchanges with that BTC to help stabilize and bolster the AC coin price.

In the interim while you wait for the official AsiaCoin pool to come online, ac.pool.mn will convert over to a multi-pool format once regular mining is done tonite.

but now something more important. whats about the multipool??
i thought they want to provide a pool which is going to link the hashingpower to
the most profitable coins and exchange them for BTC to buy AC with them..

How come the wallet doesn't have coin control? Also why isn't there a stake indicator on the lower right like in BC? Is this something that'll only show up after PoW is finished or is it a feature the wallet is lacking?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

my wallet is showing me the stake indicator. which version are you using?

you are all wrong. lol.
it s exactly 386 minutes. (lil more than 6h)

No you are wrong.  382 minutes.  Cheesy
