Sorry if i post again this question but i'm new at cryptocurrency and i really wish to not screw up my little investment in this amazing coin!

I read as subject a "Please Upgrade your Wallet"...how do i do that properly? I mean...if I uninstall the old wallet and then i install the new one wouldn't i lose all the coins? (and besides the "how do i do that properly"...how do i do that with a macbook?)
backup your wallet.dat first then download new wallet and run it.

Thanks a lot my friend!
But when i download macos wallet from mainsite it looks like the same old wallet...am i wrong?

Hey all. I wanted to make sure my wallet was updated and ready for PoS, but noticed all the available downloads for Mac wallets were version 1.0.0.0.
Doesn't seem like a crucial update, so I should be fine right? In any case, does anyone know where I might find v1.0.0.1 for Mac? Thanks in advance! Can't wait to see where AC takes us!

The original post in this thread has a link.

I upgraded my wallet for Linux from source just minutes ago. When I run the wallet it says version 1.0.0.0 but it must be the latest version because I can see it was last modified only 2 days ago.

Please answer the following the questions I have regarding the Asiacoin QT wallet:

I currently have my wallet encrypted and unlocked for staking, however when I want to send coins the wallet sends them without asking for the password. I used the "walletpassphrase" command to set this up.

1. I want it so that the wallet is encrypted, able to stake, AND requires the password to send coins. Is this possible?

2. I've also heard that you can unlock the wallet for a time, wait for it to sync, and then lock it again...and then in this case it will still stake? Is that true?

100 Doge bounty for anyone who can provide the solutions to these problems!!

Many Thanks!

1. Encrypt the wallet using password
2. Then in the settings choose unlock, type password let it sync

PoS should start today so after 2 weeks from today, open your wallet go to settings>unlock and let it sync...done

PS: Check my posts, there is how to

Thanks for your reply, just to be clear: In order to stake, I should unlock the wallet after encrypting it and syncing it and then just quit the QT?

I'm wondering if it is safe to keep the wallet unlocked like that, since you can send coins from the wallet if it is unlocked and encrypted without the password.

Is the wallet still safe if it is unlocked and offline?

Thanks

Unlock the wallet and leave the QT running. It will not stake if you quit. I'm not sure how long you need to keep the wallet open in order to earn all of your "interest", but I believe you should open it fairly frequently (every few days, maybe weeks?)

Even after unlocking the wallet your coins are safe, since you still have to re-enter your password before you can send coins.

I'm curious about my wallet settings. Do I need to leave the wallet unlocked when I turn off my computer? It's locked every time I open up the wallet and I have to unlock with my password. Will this prohibit me from gaining interest with my PoS? (I'm new to the cryptocurrency world). Cheers for any info
Just checked myself... You are right, we need to unlock it every time. Let's wait for a reply from someone of knowledge.

My wallet is encrypted, but it needs to be unlocked to stake:

1. In the wallet app, click Help -> Debug Window
2. Click Console Tab
3. On the command line enter: walletpassphrase 999999 true

This will unlock the wallet for MINTING ONLY and is safe.  Put in your wallet passphrase in the <> above ( your wallet IS encrypted, right?)

Thanks for the info, although I just followed those instructions and got this message back:  Error: The wallet passphrase entered was incorrect. (code -14). I entered my password and that happened

Make sure to leave out the <> symbols: if your password is PASSWORD then enter this: walletpassphrase PASSWORD 999999 true

Thank you for the info.

I think the big question now is when POS kicks in will it work........ So far the launch has been smooth and everything has gone just as the dev has planned. Problem is if the POS doesn't work EXACTLY as it is supposed to there is going to be a major drop. On the other hand if it does work it should just build more market confidence in the coin.

Truth be told I started mining this coin from the beginning to dump it for a quick buck but maybe just maybe we have a scrypt coin that has something that is starting to look like a future. I am curious enough that I am going to hold this thing for a bit and see how it pans out.

Look at 15 min bitcoinwisdom chart. You can see that right now its at the same level as when the big artificial pump started. So its still on the uptrend. And if this one goes over 1800 again slowly then you can be sure we will pass 2500 again just a bit slower.
Multipool isnt even out.. When will that  come?

can you please send a link for the botcoinwisdom chart... i cant find anything in the market tab

By adding this to Debug Consol, we don't have to unlock everytime we start the client? This was the question he meant to ask that he had to unlock everytime he start...
