I am using the linux wallet by the way. Not sure if it matters, but here the limit is about 500 input addresses (about 600 - 700 AMS at the time for masternode earnings)

in the gui wallet try: settings -> options -> main -> database cache: set this to 500
then tools -> wallet repair. There you see the commandline options. So try to start the wallet with the first option:
open cmd: amsterdamcoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet
