It wasn't transferred, just renewed.

Yes it's renewed. Registration reseller don't have rights for renew domain for other else person if it is before 80 days after expiration date. So it's still the same owner. Anyway, it doesn't matter who have this domain because last stage airdrop and burn coins after is priority now for success auroracoin.

The bad news is it was someone here on the forum who renewed it, not baldur.
I don't think so. Any registration reseller not working like that. They can't sell domain anyone else before 80 days after expiration date. This domain still belong to the same person.

Auroracoin.org is live. I imagine this means the airdrop is back on as well.

Did this happen after I posted my message, or was I just an idiot for not checking the site first? Smiley Good to see it's back.

That is very good information Smiley We are still in game and I will be waiting for ending last stage airdrop. Last stage airdrop meaning last dump price , but it no matter for long term opportunities. I Am really happy.

Just a warning that time is running out to renew the domain. If it passes a certain period (something like 15 days from the expiration date - could be wrong) then it will cost more like $200 to renew. If it's still left then at some point it will end up in limbo for some time, unable to be renewed, until it is deleted and is available to register by anyone.
If you can PM me how to do it I will! I already offered $ 200,- anyway...

my blockexporers AuroraCoind is stuck at 84380 (2014/12/28 05:32:08) (http://explorer.auroracoin.eu)

same with this one: https://aur.cryptocoins.at/explorer/chain/auroracoin

and this one: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/

something's broken, I guess.

The last block to be confirmed is 84543 on http://blockexplorer.auroracoin.eu/chain/AuroraCoin?count=100&hi=84543

yeah, mining again, but:

blockexplorer shows no block for a 7 hour period starting 12/28 12:53:

Difficulty almosted halfed due to that.

I have no plausible explanation for this.

EDIT: then there were more 'breaks', like this one:

what is this? Does everyone stop mining? I don't get it.

The world’s first Play, Learn and Earn
all the shukumuku doesn't change the fact:

between 500.000 and 2.000.000 coins from the premine have been laundered to the man in the shadow.

Even Balduro coming back will not change a thing  because he can't proof a thing. The blockchain-history is there. It's a proven scam and nothing  can change that at this point.

It's time to move on...

if Baldur can't even renew the domain, how can we expect him to burn the rest of the premine.

urgh. This sux.

EDIT: sorry for the negativity. The uncertainty is quite unbearable. It's just not a comfortable situation. I'm holding back putting much effort into AUR because of this.

I think it's fair to say we all are somewhat confused around all the uncertainty that the absence of Baldur brings.

Although I personally think Baldur needs to adres the pre-mine situation urgently, the rest is still up to us. This is why a group of serious supporters of the ideology behind the Auroracoin project are starting to go forward with it without him. From previous discussions with Baldur I know that this exactly what he anticipated on to begin with.

So, for now all we can do is move on and create a working community once more. For that we have the new forum http://auroraspjall.is .

Let's just hope Baldur will end up proving to us all he is still legit and committed towards this, in my eyes still, very promising project.

If you stuff a "Host: www.auroracoin.org" directive into a HTTP request to the IP 104.28.4.68 you get back the auroracoin site. I'm not sure whether this means the web server is still active, or it's just cloudflare caching it.

Looks like auroracoin.org is registered under eNom, or one of its resellers. Does anyone know if it's possible to renew a domain via them, without needing to be logged in as the original registrant? (ie - ANYONE can renew the domain). Did a quick web search but couldn't find anything.

edit: the reseller is namecheap.

edit 2: Speaking in namecheap live chat, they can contact the registrant, and there's no objections within 24 hours they will allow a third party to renew the domain. They've also recommended to renew with WhoisGuard, otherwise the original registrant's details will be revealed, but the catch is that also may trigger ICANN contact validation, which could result in suspension of the domain 15 days later. So better to pay the extra $2.88 to continue WhoisGuard and avoid ICANN validation.

So... does anyone have a namecheap account? It will cost $14.36 to renew the domain and WhoisGuard.
I just had a chat with namecheap and the rep I got said 'no can do'. Have to wait 80 days for the domain to be available.
I suspect the agent you spoke with may have had more initiative than usual. Maybe I'll try again later.

I was actually quite impressed with the person I spoke with. I was expecting a bunch of form replies, and having to explain what I wanted in 3 different ways, but she understood and answered immediately.

You need to make it clear that you're a third party who only wants to RENEW the domain; you don't want to assume ownership or change anything.

If you have no luck then let me know and I'll see if I can dig up a log of my chat.

I commend you for taking a stand, Baldur II.

This is all nice and dandy, but we have _one_ serious problem that cannot be solved in a decentralized nature as you suggest: the premine.

If it isn't destroyed, quite frankly the coin loses most of its remaining potential,... probably all of it.

I have been with Aurora from early beginning, hoping how Icelanders, experienced by bank system meltdown, will adopt this idea. I didn't expected spectacular success in terms of claimants number.
But even with such minimal interest this coin remained in my memory as fairest distribution ever done within crypto currency world.

Saddly, news , confirmed by you, that there are unexplained airdrop stakes are still leaking to few same addresses make me really wondering about future of this coin.

@molecular, I aggree with you - any remaining coins that haven't been send to eligible claimants should be destroyed in that case.
