#BernieSanders
Today's victory in Wyoming makes eight victories out of the last nine contests.
Can You explain me a little bit more about BERNIE Sanders?
I mean what;s can change when he win?
When?
Should be try to get his attention on BernCash?
Hi DonMarco, sorry to have kept you waiting. Another matter needed my attention.
Explain Bernie Sanders... hmm, where to begin? Well, first let me say I am no political expert. I do consider myself informed but, admit I have much to learn. I do always vote but this is the first election I have studied. Bernie Sanders is a older and very old-fashioned man. I do not mean old-fashioned in his political views but, a humble man. Married to the same women since they meet in college. Lives a modest life that seems to be more focused on fighting for civil liberties than the glamorous life style many politicians enjoy by collecting fringe benefits from there position of power from companies that lobby for bills and regulations to be written the way they see fit for the most profit. Often times sacrificing the environment or people's rights in lieu of the all-mighty dollar. This is the first change Bernie Sanders wants to bring, getting this corrupt money out of politics and he is practicing what he is preaching. We is the only candidate that is funded by individual contributions and not by corporations. He refuses to accept money knowing damn well big businesses "give" to politics to a) gain political influence and b) make a tax write-off that would be just as much as a write-off improving conditions for workers or even (*gasp*) giving people a raise.
Another thing he will change is the senseless never-ending wars. With all due respect to the men and women that served and sacrificed, the Iraq war is a disaster. Bernie Sanders voted against the war in Iraq. History repeatedly is finding Bernie on the right side of issues.
Another thing Bernie will bring is equality. Race, religion, gender, sexual preference, all humans being treated on the same level and with respect and human compassion. We are talking about a man that was arrested for non-violent protest for schools to eradicate segregation while he was in college. He marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. He always has been fighting. In streets, in courtrooms, in the senate, and I hope soon in the oval office, fighting for equality and civil rights.
Another inequality he strives for is financial inequality. Fighting for the 99% of us that do not eat off of silver platters. The middle class is being strangled to non-existence. America now has more wealth and income inequality than any major developed country on earth, and the gap between the very rich and everyone else is wider than at any time since the 1920s. The top one-tenth of one percent owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent. We have the highest childhood poverty rate of nearly any developed country on earth. Families can not take this. So how will he close this gap? What can we expect? Demand the 1% and corporations pay their share. Situations like what has recently come to surface with the Panama Papers will no longer be blindly passed. They knew what they were passing with the Panama trade agreement and why. Where was Bernie while that passed? Fighting to stop it. Sadly for millions if not trillions of dollars a year of money that should have been taxed, he failed. But history did once again, find him on the right side of the issue. Unfortunately he was to strongly out numbered by people that stood to gain from such devastating trade deals. NAFTA lost millions of jobs for middle class workers here in my home state of Ohio. Not that I forget the millions of other people on the other end that were forced to work in death traps of manufacturing warehouses. TPP stands to do this on a grander scale. Bernie has opposed both and as president he will have the power to reverse these trade agreements.
This joblessness creates an environment for today's youth that sees only crime as the only viable option out of poverty and many of them are forced to learn this while in their teens or sooner. Not only does he want to set aside $5.5 billion in a youth jobs program, he wants free tuition to state colleges and universities if they perform well in school given them other options than slinging drugs. Opponents of this argue we will not be able to afford this. Nonsense. Our war costs could easily pay for this. I went to a state college. I have seen arsenals. Trust me, there is no question which costs more. Opponents say this is socialism and it is not. It is democratic socialism and not are present capitalist socialism. Socialist ideals are responsible for roads, food inspectors, libraries, ect. It is not a bad word. Its bad when it is not controlled by the people through democracy. That said, I would sooner be taxed more so kids can gain an education and rank aside the rest of the industrial world rather than not be taxed more and bombing other kids infrastructure while our children gain nothing and can not afford a higher education. American students used to rank #1. Now they rank #12. Not to say our students should be number one or our magically better but, they should have the option to strive for number 1.
Another change is single payer healthcare. Health care with only one requirement, being a human being. We can do this as a lot of countries do and it is working well for them. The only reason we do not is the pharmaceutical companies won't have it. Gouging sick people for their last penny seems to have been very profitable. Not just for big pharm but also for the politicians pockets for which they line. Leading us back to my first point of getting the money out of politics.
It is no doubt, these are big changes and they will take time. Bernie will not be working alone. This is a political revolution of change and people realizing politicians work for us and electing public servants the do work for us. It will not be easy but it will be worth it.
To your last question, I am sure his staff has learned of BERN. I have received questions on social media by many supporters, some of which I know work for his campaign, asking me questions. Very vague questions like, "Did you make this?" but, attention is being drawn. I am sure more will be as the project progresses. I am readying paper wallet airdrops together with supporters in New Your to be distributed prior to the primary there. #noSleepTilBrooklyn
I hope I answered your questions DonMarco. I am sure members of the community may chime in with a better, or perhaps different, understanding than mine.
