Merged of coins still alive? Kind of like a new coin - [DCR] Decred release and Blake, or am I wrong?

they would need the same 8 round Blake-256 and same wallet hashing + auxpow

they have been asked and said:

Hi there, BlueDragon747.  While you make some compelling arguments for using 8 or 10 round Blake256 instead of 14 rounds, we are not interested in having Decred merge mined with other Blake256 coins.  This choice was intentional and 14 rounds was chosen to be be conservative about security.

so no merge mine(auxpow) and using 14 round Blake-256 = it can never be merged with current coins on pools!

I recommend to adjust to the new coin - [DCR] Decred. This will give a serious impetus to the development of your ideas. The community is waiting for [DCR] Decred. If even this coin will be produced others - would be cool! Happy New Year!!!

That really is a shame...

Auxpow is the future.

Decred is 14 round blake-256...  Blakecoin is 8 round.  I don't think they can be merged

Good idea, BD, I asked and got a reply that for Fermi-based GPU I need to use another kind of ccminer. See this post for details. Now it works and I am getting 150 MH/s (I think that is not much but what should I expect of a nvidia gpu and moreover a laptop one?...)
Anyway, happy 2016 to you all.

Hello, how do I test the hashrate with my card? I tried mining against my wallet (no pool) - it's running on port 21:
Code:
ccminer -a blakecoin --url=http://127.0.0.1:21 --userpass=myuser:mypass
I get this cryptic error:
Code:
[2015-12-31 17:52:14] NVAPI GPU monitoring enabled.
[2015-12-31 17:52:14] 1 miner thread started, using 'blakecoin' algorithm.

Cuda error in func 'blake256_cpu_setBlock_16' at line 703 : invalid device symbol.
My device is GTX670M in a gaming laptop with optimus.
Can you help, please?

might be best to ask in the official thread by SP_ here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ccminersp-mod-modded-nvidia-maxwell-pascal-kernels-826901

I dont have any nvidia cards or would have tested my guess is that you might not be passing all the args needed for that card?

teknohog makes a good point, and i agree most people probably dont realize this aspect of Blakecoins inflation. There is some extra inflation from increased block height and mining difficulty, but it is negligible (unless network hashrate exceeds petahash level, then it might make a small but noticeable difference). It is safe to assume that there will be ~4 million BLC minted each year, for the forseeable future. To illustrate, here is an approximate timeline:

Code:
Year      Coin Supply       Percent Inflation
1           4 million
2           8 million            100%
3           12 million           50%
4           16 million           25%
5           20 million           20%
6           24 million           16%
7           28 million           14%
8           32 million           12%
9           36 million           11%
10         40 million            10%
...
20         80 million             5%
30         120 million           3%

One main benefit of this method is that there will always be block rewards for miners, which means they will not rely on TX fees, which means TX fees should always remain very cheap. Another benefit is that late adopters will have a fair chance at mining, unlike most coins where if you didn't mine it in the first year (in some cases, within the first month!) you are out of luck. Also important to point out that while the max amount of BLC to be minted is 7 billion, for the first ~20 years the coin supply will not even exceed 100 million.

fear of the inflation
The common perception of inflation means a steady percentage increase in the money supply per year, in other words an exponential increase. Blakecoin only inflates linearly, meaning the % growth gets smaller every year, and in the long run it won't make a perceptible difference.

If people were rational about money, even Bitcoin could have such a linear inflation without too much fuss. However, some people seem entrenched by the idea of a permanently limited supply, as if they were planning to keep their savings in the coin for hundreds of years. Meanwhile, most people aren't thinking long term enough to care about fiat inflation. A linear inflation might provide a sensible middle ground.

I think Blaketrader is down. Hasn't worked since the 24th.

Yeah, sorry. Some users traded my entire supply of PPC/LTC. Halting the trading until I procure some BTC then PPC/LTC. It will probably be a few more days.

I am still here and doing what is stated on OP "Already has planned use for Blakecoin as a currency storage between MMO systems with prototypes in development" see www.blakezone.com

main feature have been done for quite some time like merge mining which was done 6-8 months before litecoin/dogecoin, GPU/FPGA which was done shortly after release late 2013

seems unloved

not true many do love its just not made to be a scam so not as "profitable" as some other coins Roll Eyes

things traders dont like is the steady stream(no reward reduction over time) of coins which is a must for ongoing mmo games as you dont need supply to dry up few years down the line, fear of the inflation which is proven to be total bs by now anybody can see that it only scales with extreme network hashrate and even at 3TH/s was still less that 0.3 BLC

so stuff is happening but very slowly

algo wise 8 round Blake-256 algo is as good as ever and still kicks ass nothing has changed on that front  Grin

on my github you can find versions for php/python/java/c/c#/go
also done some work on sse3/sse4.1 which I hope will be implemented in wallet sometime 2016

BlakeCoin =  Does What It States On Tin! *eventually  Cheesy

Are Blake dev/devs in communication with the people from Decred?

Hi all Smiley Is much happening with this coin. I think I remember the dev (BD)from the trollbox at c-cex back in 2013 (?). The alogo seems to get good raps but the coin seems unloved.
