Hi, i now testing compare with dstm, and it seems this miner is a few percent faster like others said. But on some rigs i have problem, that some GPUs are not load at full.

example, rig with 3x1070 with dstm all GPUs are on 99-100%, but with Bminer, only GPU 0 and 2 are on this. GPU1 is only 94% load
On rig with 4x1070 GPU 0,1 and 3 at full load, but GPU2 again only 94%

Like i said, with dstm or ewbf are all gpus at full load, no other change.

p.s. on 1070ti... this is awesome, where i had 480 with dstm, with bminer i have 500sols, awesome. But again, on rig with 4x1070ti+2x1060 I have problem, that some gpus are not at full load and all rig is slower compare with dstm wgich is ok.

I have no idea where can be problem.

My guess is that the temperature might be too high --- can you please share some screenshots of the UI and the results of nvidia-smi?

I dont think there is a problem with temperature, because other miner havent this problem with same settings, here si screen.

I made a note to the dev back in the thread about this, that some pools require email as argument. Last time i checked bminer cant parse email addresses as argument.

I have a mixed rig 1060 6Gb with 1070Ti , what i noticed that 1070Ti gpu load reported from GPUZ, Msi afterburner is 93% at the same time 1060 GPU loads are 96%, this doesn't correlate with the GPU overclock or temperature

1. What the "firmware.bin" file is for? Does Bminer reflash your video cards? Can this affect guarantee?
2. Why it keeps connections not only to the specified pool but two more hosts nowhere mentioned?

Good questions. Would also like to know an answer to those before mass moving to bminer.

I don't think these questions have actually been definitely answered? I see speculation on #2, and nothing on #1. Thanks.

1. It contains runtime and licensing information. It does not flash the video card and will not affect the warranty.
2. They are related to devfee.

Not sure i agree with best speed, but its close.
I get better results with ZM and my machine graphics refresh doesnt hang as much.

Machine specifications?

Recently tested Bminer: agree, the performance is just amazing. More than 15% faster than EWBF on the same cards. Up to stable 320 Sol/s for 1060 3GB and 600 Sol/s for G1 1080.

But before mass moving to Bminer I have two questions:
1. What the "firmware.bin" file is for? Does Bminer reflash your video cards? Can this affect guarantee?
2. Why it keeps connections not only to the specified pool but two more hosts nowhere mentioned?

If your bminer need 2 constant connection to get dev fee then sorry you do it wrong!!! way not do same thing like claymore in his program aka connect to pool what you want use only when dev fee it meant to be collect not to keep 100% extra connection in your case after 4.0 ver x2  Embarrassed Undecided  & that was make me to say pass but nop thx ... special ip what was there was very let say strange ...

Tcpview done by sysinternals it reveal easy all network connection use

about speed your bminer it do same speed like dtms but it push power with extra 2W more that it suppose to be in stead 86 it make to be 88 or 88 to be 90 & that i seen in more heat to, other way is very stable, same amount of reject like dtms from time to time 1% very rare ...

Miner reports my hashrate at 4.6Ksol/s but Flypool averages 4.2Ksol/s. That is 10% less.

Can you please try nanopool? I got fairly consistent results on nanopool for an extended period.

Several users report that the hashrate is inconsistent on flypool. Will have to look into what is happening

Was using this for several weeks without problems and good hashrates but came home from work yesterday to find it apparently mining for someone else. Checked batch file and relaunched several times but pool showed no login from my account and no shares found.

Back to dstm for me.

I'm sure you have screenshots and info to back up your claims?   Wink

4.0.0 is released. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

There are quite a bit of improvements in this release:

  • Minor performance improvement.
  • Support older CPUs like Core 2 Duo.
  • Support mining rigs that have more than 8 GPUs.
  • Support luckpool.org.
  • Removed the polling option.
  • Introduced the option `-max-network-failures` which allows Bminer to exit after consecutive network failures.
  • Various improvement on the UI.
  • Localization for Russian and Chinese.

Can confirm the miner is now working with 12 cards rig, the CPU load is about the same as EWBF, good job.

Except the number of coins you receive is not just dependent on your hash rate. It also depends on the difficulty and the luck of pool, both of which can vary greatly over any given 24 hour period.

Yes, I addressed the concern in bold by using a calculator that applies the average hashrate for the last 24 hours... It would be hopeless to try to calculate that yourself as difficulty changes on a moment by moment basis.

As for pool luck, that is another reason why the test should be run for 24 hours, but if the pool is finding less than a couple blocks per day then even that length of time will be insufficient for a fair evaluation of miner performance. The only solution I know of for that is to do the testing on a pool with a much higher total hashrate/that finds blocks more often; at least 1 per hour, preferably 1 every few minutes.

It my experience, Bminer is ~3% faster compared to DSTM's miner. This is going by the reported hash rate and the average 24 hour hash rate graph reported on Flypool, which shows the effective hash rate is somewhat higher when using Bminer compared to using DSTM in the same 24 hour period.

Is this sarcasm? If so, might want to add the  Roll Eyes to the end of such a statement next time.

But yes, there is a way to determine the actual hashrate: mine for 24 hours and then recursively iterate the number of coins received versus the "average difficulty over the last 24 hours" on the calculators at, e.g., minethecoin.com, to find the hashrate.

But if you know of a better way I'd love to hear it.

What is your MoBo and CPU? I have the same problem. Two identical rigs on the old 775 socket. But first rig with quad-core CPU core2quad Q8400 (bminer works excellent, about week uptime without errors). The second rig with the same mobo, same GPU's and dual-core CPU core2duo E6750 says "Miner died, restarting" too. On the same time DSTM 0.5.6 and 0.5.7 work fine on this E6750 rig.

This was with an AMD Phenom II 955 and an Asus M4N75TD mobo on Windows 7 - so, completely different!

Still, pretty brazen to charge a devfee for an alpha-level program. I have the same complaint with Claymore's Cryptonight miner, which lies so bad about hashrate it should be made into a rug...

 

If only there was some way to validate hash rates at the pool.
