Hi all,

I have been solo mining for a few months now and have saved up a good amount of BURST. Now that I have my stack, I am considering leasing my hard disk space in monthly contracts and would like to feel out demand for the service.

I have briefly read about the Petabyte asset offering a similar service for something like $80/TB. I am not sure if this is for the lifetime of the drives or any other details since I have not been on the asset's page in the marketplace yet.

As an alternative, I would like to offer my disk space at $10/TB per month, payable via Bitcoin (also considering pegging it to a BTC amount). (Sorry, this would not be on the BURST asset exchange). Monthly payouts seem to be the easiest to deal with at the moment.

I currently have around 90TB available, mining 24/7 (for the most part, brief restarts and maintenance periods are inevitable), on a BURST-dedicated PC. 100 TB total will be available soon.

So, would anyone out there be interested in such a service? I would provide proof that the drives exist and that they are mining. A dedicated BURST address would be created for anyone to track the mining performance.

great, but $10/ month is a lot. Like, heaps. Sorry, but no buyers at that price.

Yeah, I would only want to go down to $8, maybe $6 per TB/month, otherwise it's not worth the feeling of having other people relying on the service to me.

I was able to acquire my drives in bulk for a really good price, so even if I liquidated all at $30/TB I would have a comfortable profit overall and the future potential of BURST.

I've bought more coins than I have mined at this point and I do have faith in BURST, especially as the first HDD-mineable crypto. As it becomes more user-friendly, automated, and "turn-key" for the end user, I think it will continue to grow. Major selling points are you can mine with relatively affordable non-esoteric hardware, it is one of the most profitable coins to mine for your dollar spent on hardware (right?), and the drives basically retain their resale value until they die/fail.

I honestly don't think the BURST marketplace / exchange will be very important to people who hear of BURST as a way to sit back and earn BTC with your extra HDD space. However, I think marketing BURST in this way would take It to a new level, it is just not easy enough to use to try to market it this way yet.

As long as BURST enters that "turn-key" realm before another HDD coin comes along and beats to the punch, BURST will explode, I think.

Just my 2 BURST

BURST got Smart Contracts (AT)
thinking of buying one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178587

anyone know of anything more cost effective ?
I would pull the drive out, put it in a server case, and use the sata interface.

I would buy it! Cheaper than my last 4 TB drives! Hopefully it is the same case size, so that they fit into my grid.

PLEASE STOP INSULT EACH OTHER.

THIS IS A DISCUSSION OVER BURST!!!

No discussion about windows and linux fanatics
No discussion to offend each other
No discussion to blame someone that he knows nothing (everybody could make his own opinion)

SO BOTH SIDES STOP THIS AND JUST IGNORE POSTS FROM OTHERS THAT YOU CANT AGREE WITH!

Lets disuss the coin and help each other!

Ah yes, the OS specific javascript code .... you really are an idiot aren't you.

Dear Junior Member,

YES!!!
Well, sort off!
It is not the JAVASCRIPT code, that is different for Linux / Windows, but the way the underlying OS handle it.

Don't believe it?

ASK your boss Jason, how much troubles he faced to install the code on Linux, and then switched to Windows, ...

I couldn't believe it either, ... and so I installed the code by myself.

So who is the ***** ?
I am way too polite to repeat your quote  Grin Grin Grin

The code you're running is the same code burst.ga used to run, it claims to have made payouts, but sometimes those transactions don't make it to the blockchain. So yeah, you're losing payments, well - you're not, the people mining on your pool are the ones getting ripped off.

That was the windows version, right?

Does any other pool, had the same problem? I haven't read about from others than above pool.

Yes, happening on other pools with the same code you're using. eg: https://burstforum.com/index.php?threads/burstcoin-it-pool.381/page-2

I also checked the transactions on a couple of pools, and they too are missing transactions.

And as Uray (author of the code FYI) said himself: "as you know that the R1 pool is different than my pool at burstcoin.io, because i made a lot of changes and improvement on it, current pool (I called R2), it has better performance, less payment error, better stat data, ". See the part "less payment error" ......

Is the weekly Lottery finished? At least my http://localhost:8125/atlotteries.html# is empty.

works fine in my wallet. perhaps you sould:
1. Download the news file
2. restart your wallet.

I downloaded a new version, however, since there is no official place to look for, it might be that google guided me to a wrong place.

Google pointed me to https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/28465-ann-burst-hard-disk-mining-crowdfunding-press-release/
where the download file is from Mega:
https://mega.co.nz/#!rMo0RKBJ!t1dLP5l4DT3BV08zblc4z9I7mkBElk9-WAnWAk0iriU

I restarted also the wallet.
