Update required for all users by block 49200 (12/26 or 12/27)

If using an existing copy of the blockchain this will do a re-scan on first run.

This update adds the Automated Transaction (AT) system. This will allow users to write turing complete scripts which can be saved to the blockchain. Scripts will get their own account id and are able to send and receive coins, and will execute trustlessly.

This release should be compliant with the ciyam AT specs found here: http://ciyam.org/at/
Additional platform-specific api calls will be added later on.

Current fees for ATs are:
On creation 1 burst per memory page(256 bytes).
When ATs execute, normal opcodes cost 0.1, and api calls cost 1.
There is a maximum of 200 fee per AT execution.

ATs would not have have happened without the work of vbcs ( BURST-NUFU-7PX7-KHVM-7EMNC ) and CIYAM. Thanks

How much are you earning per day with 100TB on devs v2 pool ?

can not be more than 10K a day with 100T with 10 ~ 15 T oscilaltions as we have now and it aint going down, you better of buying on an exchange price should drop big time before years end, next year is an open end game

No.

My guess is you will earn ~10K with 35-40-45tb.

To have 200tb on regular equipment, mining 24/7, must be hell. Since I started mining a year ago, no form of mining has required as much work and attention as Burst. But still it's fun with all the problems. Can't remember how many times I been thinking "I'll fix that rig tomorrow!", but still end up spending 2h in the middle of the night getting it to tun smoothly again.

That makes you respect the mined coins more. I'll not sell them cheap, for sure.

yeah must be 20K a day on 100 tera on approximately 3.K thousand dollars (getting goose bumps just thinking about it) as far as selling right now I don't who is selling! WD/Seagate testing lab ? maybe

I forgot one more investment one has to make high speed DRAM usually > 150$ a pop if smart one gets 4 x and if really smart (smart of stupid you decide) one spreads load of drives across multiple servers so I say + extra 1,000$ for fast deadlines, multiple servers costs so I say + extra lets say 3,000$ we tabulate for a 20K to 30 T investment Today will be... and the winner iiiis:

3,5000$ +
1,0000$ +
3,0000$  =
------------
grand total 7,500$ that's seven and a half thousand dollars for 20,000 BURST a day which is at the current market prices and the winer is:

0.000527 x 20,000 whopping 10$ a day! we congratulate the winner

Disclaimer: not saying it is not fun to engage in this tech it is awesome and not saying prices won't go up but I am really curious who is selling

Cool

For large scale burst miners, can you recommend pool? Like 200TB... solo was doing ok, but lets try options?

It has been unstable lately but uray's SG pool was by far the very best for larger miner; I'm waiting for the day it returns to it's full glory.

For now I have almost 100tb on devs v2 pool. It pays my the best right now and very regularly. Before I was on crow's burst.ga but it really didn'tpaid off as I thought, sadly.

Would be fun to see how a 200tb-miner would do on devs pool. The use of deadlines therr pays off nicely for larger miners, that I know atleast.

let me see , 4 Tera even on ebay (and that is a risk) 150$ ? take 100 T / 4 T = 25 x 4 tera drives times 150$ so the individual invested 3,500$ simply wow

almost 4 grand for 10K BURST a day can not be more than that maybe plus or minus 4K BURST

sometimes I wonder on people's capacity to think

also not to mention that every time magnetic needle touches down the surface (moving parts) for surely these ain't optical drives it shaves off lifetime of these drives  in the 24 cycle after one year every day will be risk of complete disk failure

After a lot of updates and bug fixes we are making available to anyone who is interested in reviewing and testing AT inside burst platform. (  https://github.com/BurstProject/burstcoin/tree/at )

Thanks!  Something to read on the plane.

AT - Automated Transactions - CIYAM Developer
After a lot of updates and bug fixes we are making available to anyone who is interested in reviewing and testing AT inside burst platform. (  https://github.com/BurstProject/burstcoin/tree/at )

It is not the final release, as there are some additions to be done (specially in the GUI side), but for reviewing and test purposes although in the final release the core AT function will not change. I would like to thank burstcoin for his contribution and his valuable help integrating AT smoothly into burst platform. And also I would like to thanks the ppl who donated for this project.

Enjoy.

Very nice, I hope I'll be able to test it out soon. By GUI you mean it is integrated into the wallet right?

Yes, you can see the AT section if you expand the transactions tab.

When i said dangerous it´s because i have my photos my porn collection and others wallets in my HDD

It stores the plots to a separate file.. so it doesn't say overwrite a specific address on your hard drive that might overwrite something you don't want.  So no real risk of it overwriting something if that's what you are worried about.

I was initially a little bit worried about that myself.

if you want to be sure mine over secondary HDD or do 2 partition if you have just one HDD...

in any case, it is not dangerous....
you read your plots just one time per block.

from dev...

Only 0.024% of the stored data will need to be read each block

if you have 10TB plotted you read just 2,4GB.

AT - Automated Transactions - CIYAM Developer
Has there been any work on the development environment for AT?  The spec at CIYAM seems very low-level.

Is a crypto API going to be added to it?  Doing crypto using the AT instructions would be very expensive.

How does the AT code interact with reward assignment?  Vitalik Buterin thought up a mining contract where the terms of mining would be very enticing, and would lock participants' coin into the contract using a heavy penalty once the mining pool controlled more than 50% of the hashing power, giving the controller of the contract the power to double spend.  Such a malicious arrangement could be simplified if AT code can automatically set reward assignment.

It would be great to see the source code for the AT branch of burstcoin.  Is it available anywhere?

For the moment the way to create AT programs is writing AT machine code or using the https://github.com/BurstProject/ATAssembler burstdev made.

There are many hash functions defined in the API section of the AT ( md5, sha256, ripemd160) you can use. Check the API specification for all the API calls an AT program can make ( http://ciyam.org/at/at_api.html ).

I am not sure I totally understood your question about reward assignment. ATs are consuming fees from running op codes and calling API functions. The fees goes to the "forger" of the block.

The code will be available very soon.

Burst is a NxT clone?

Nope, Burst is a Nxt fork.. big difference, burst actually does a few things Nxt can't do.  And considering all the issues with POS, Proof of Capacity is a pretty stable

Ah ok thank you
It's innovative but isn't dangerous for the HDD?

Not that much...  Google did an in-depth study on hard drive failure rates.  Usage barely plays a part when it comes to failure rates:
http://static.googleusercontent.com/media/research.google.com/en/us/archive/disk_failures.pdf

During the first 6 months of owning a hard drive, heavy usage could increase the odds of failure but after that.. it's negligible. And if your drive fails during the first 6 months.. it was probably going to fail fairly soon anyway, in my opinion.. after all it probably means there is a manufacturing problem or it was tossed around too much during shipping or something.

Not to mention that though Burst initially heavily uses your hard drive for plotting, after that, I'd arguably consider it low usage.. every 4 minutes you read a few MB from it, and you don't need to write back to it, which isn't too bad.  And it's not like it's constantly reading and writing.

Glad to see that you are thinking about the coin, happy to answer any questions you might have.

What do u mean by "dangerous" ? If u mean reducing life span of HDD is "dangerous" , every mining operation is "dangerous" because every single piece of hardware have reduce life span running 24/7 , no matter its ASIC or GPU or HDD , all mining operation are "dangerous" by nature.

It's not more dangerous than working on your PC.
