Yep Remember, Buying some new SSD to mine burst is business expense!

Why would you use SSDs for mining? Makes no sense at all.

But if you have a lot of them and using for nothing it is better to mine with them.

True... plotting and organizing the plot files would achieve incredible speeds on an SSD.
I just wonder how much it would degrade the SSD and how long it's life would be shortened by doing so.

If I had free SSD's, you bet I would be killing them like I have killed GPUs!

If you problems with RAM performance check Runaurufu Burst Miner (included his RAM Cleaner), change pool and directories in configuration.xml to fit your needs - works like a charm for me  Cheesy

Source? I asked him for it once before, but didn't provide it.
LOL and we're supposed to just trust some download link

"it's legit, I PROMISE!"

lol.

(in actuality, I've never touched the link, I'm being funny, don't actually think that I think it's legit. public service announcement.)

It's legit... I downloaded and scanned the heck out of it.
Loaded it into an isolated instance and didn't run into any problems.

I do have to say, I like blago's miner better.

i´m at solo for a week now, but yesterday is was also my badest day. only one block in 24h..... normally i found 4...

Hi bobafett,

Are you using the pocminer in the OP? I too am trying to run solo but I have had memory problems with the java miner (out of memory for the java heap space). Are you running one instance of the miner per harddrive or do you have another setup that works better? i'd be glad to know if you would like to share a bit about your setup!

I´m using the newest blago miner. pocminer reads all plot files at the same time, what overloads my box. blago reads each file after the other. so in my opinion its the best miner at the moment if you have more than one plot file.
that is incorrect.  blago's miner is multi-threaded and will read all drives simultaneously

I have run blago's miner in solo and my average discovered blocks is 1 or 2 a day.
I've noticed when I switch to the V2 pool and discovered blocks are average 3 or 4 a day.
Do not know why the difference !!!
I have 34 TB of plots.

If you added wear hdd you can halve I think.

Well, I can say that I have been purchasing external HDDs for plotting.
In two months I can recover the cost of the HDD (Unlike the 6+ month minimum ROI on GPU mining equipment).

I now have HDDs that have paid for themselves and continue to generate income.
If it dies, so what?   I have already recovered the cost of the drive... I'll just go get a new one.

How is this being portrayed as SO different that using GPUs or ASICs?
It's EXACTLY the same risk... and if managed properly, you will always be making money.

must say very cool community has developed here, like person showing how to optimize RAM usage.. it is great cause you will gain ever more not necessarily technical folks in due time

have a non rainy day unless is rainy tipping wise , we don't have BURST tipping yet but I feel it is one of these things that is going to literarily BURST and not just BURST coins into mainstream (and many other things) I would not worry about low price at all this year is dismal for everyone

 Cool

burst tipping? dont we have irc bot at #burst-coin, and we can tip each other, and every day there are burst raining there?

True... all coins are down now... and for the past 4 years -- around this time of year, the prices are always down.
Now is a good time to buy stable, established, coins!
