How stupid was I to invest in this crap before doing a solid research..
Very.

Which coin are you talking about, I am beginning to look at CACH as my next investment.  I already offloaded my Vert at spike and am considering buying it all back at near half price.  Which one do you think is crap and what research are you talking about?  The vert premine?
I can't talk for the poster above but I don't believe CACHe is crap at all. It hasn't been marketed the best sure but it's a solid coin in my opinion. I just think the above was stupid to invest in it without doing his own research - as you would be with any coin.

CACHe is on an exchange and it's value is steadily increasing. People are mining it actively so it's far from dead and the community is there.
CACHe has same ideas as Vertcoin: increasing Nfactor to avoid ASIC (actually CACHe is more Anti-Asic than Vertcoin because its Nfactor is increasing faster). But CACHe even more advance than Vertcoin because it's using scrypt-jane: using less power when mining and reward per block is adapted based on nethash, another advantage is POS reward.

Thanks. I am looking for a long-term investment in a scrypt-jane coin for those reasons.  VERT seemed like it was too good to be true so I had to cut out, unfortunately i offloaded most of mine at the 1 USD per coin mark.  That's besides the point.  I am glad CACH has both n-factor and scrypt-jane.  That should do well for longevity.

Vertcoin was premined. Cachecoin was not.
Ok, premine is never defensible imo. But how about the technical differences? I don't have enough knowledge to judge which one has the smartest 'layout' in that aspect.

Could someone explain the the differences between CACH and Vert, besides the PoS? I can see that they have a quite different approach to the N-factor:
For example, Vertcoin began at a N-factor of 10, while CACH began at 5.

Just add https://poloniex.com/ under "trading places".
By summary I mean a small introduction/overview of the coin, but unfortunately I'm not the right guy to write that. Tongue

Hehe, yeah, thanks for that Tongue totally forgot Cheesy Unfortunately, I suck at writing summaries too Sad
Penguincoin has a pretty good OP in my opinion.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-peng-penguincoin-vote-for-cryptsy-442876

The OP is the first impression many get of a coin. It would be worth in my opinion taking some time to update it with some more up-to-date information and make it a bit more accessible to new users..

Sure enough,a good coin markets itself - but I still think we should update the thread start with the current exchanges and a summary of the coin.

Please give suggestions as to what's missing

hi guys, how many pools do we have now except for http://cach.catcoin.cz? I saw netwok hashrate is 80MH/S, while cach.catcoin.cz pool hashrate is just 8M. And, how could I solo mine CACHecoin with my own graphic cards? Waiting for your reply!

edit your cachecoin.conf and add
Code:
rpcuser=someusername
rpcpassword=somepassword
rpcallowip=*
rpcport=2224
server=1

and point your miner to http://127.0.0.1:2224 -u someusername -p somepassword

P2Pool is the other big 'pool' for CACHe. Links on the OP.

Solo mining CACHe is the same as solo mining almost any cryptocurrency. A Litecoin guide which can be adapted to CACHe is here: http://cryptocur.com/litecoin/litecoin-mining/. Unless you have several mh/s then I wouldn't bother..
