Let`s leave aside the dev issue fo a moment, what do you guys think about new block explorer.I personally cant extract any useful data from the current one.

So i propose this service provider

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/chainzcryptoidinfo-alternative-blockchain-explorers-571254

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/

They ask 120$ in bitcoins annualy and except for the 1st payment, you can pay in increments for the following.

I`m in for 0.1btc this month.

It's an arms race in the GPU market too. Given the relatively MASSIVE efficiency improvement nVidia have brought with their Maxwell architechture, AMD will hopefully be following suit, so the next or next-next line will be mining the same hashrate for much less power too. That's what happens in the tech industry, things are out-of-date really quickly on the enthusiast end.

I've start mining again when it's cold, it's a heater that helps pay for itself.

tmuir12 if you know of someone who is willing to help then please let us know,
thanks

I don't have anyone in mind, but have posted where I know people qualified to do it read.
Just making sure I'm up to date with exactly what you are looking for in case I get asked any questions.
I do think a big one you all want to think about as whether to stay with SCrypt or not.
Yes ASICS are more energy efficent per hash, but as every few months you need to disregard your ASICs, buy new ones and onsell them to someone who is never going to make a return, so saying they are more environmentally friendly I think is a misnomer. It's an arms race with ASICs, stay still for too long and you lose.

Bought a few ASICS and know that was a mistake as they will never give me a ROI, within the next couple of weeks I will be setting my ASICS to only run during daylight hours when I can power them for free off my solar panels as they now cost me more in electricity to run than they make.

I will then be just mining with my GPU when my PC is on which won't make me rich but will offset my electricty usage for my PC, which if we are really concerned about electricty usage is probably the most environmentally friendly option as my PC would already be running and letting the GPU crunch some numbers will only slightly increase its power consumption over what it would of used anyhow.

I personally like the inverse reward to difficulty level, when the coin starts moving again it'll attract ASICs which cost far less in electric than GPUs so the high difficulty will be a good feature then. The facat that the reward is so high is because the coin appears dead.
That of course brings the subject of scrypt, should it be changed for one of the newer Xxx algos instead.

I personally want to see ASICs running blockchains, they use far less electric to run which is far better for the environment but it means distribution of the coin is more limited.

Boosh has so far sent 10k , his offer of 40k is still as yet just an offer.

There are only three people who have made donations to the DEV fund so far

The DEV  fund stands at 135k as of the last deposit.

Any and all donations no matter how small would be most welcome

Did boosh send his 50,000 CASH yet?  Cause that number doesn't seem right.  Alone I have sent 100,000 CASH so far so we should have closer to 200,000.

Given there's maybe 6 million coins out right now, a 200,000 CASH dev fund is actually a nice chunk.  Most scam coins don't have premines that big.

Whoever has committed to send CASH for the dev fund please do so as soon as you can so we don't have to chase people around.

Cheers!

Tmuir, no, let's get rid of that code.

It was a good way to game the mining and it has cashed way too much inflation.

We should add some features which are popular right now.

like maybe in-wallet weed delivery.  Haha, joking.

I don't know, whatever people look for most.  I think anonymity is still a big fad as well as an in-wallet multi pool and maybe some SMS feature or a CASH game perhaps.

Just some ideas.

Have just put another 5K in the dev fund

What is the total up to now?
I don't have anyone in mind but can ask around.
Just to confirm other than the number of coins minted each day you want lowered was there any other changes you want?
If you are looking for a Dev to make changes now is the chance to sort out all the issues so you don't need to hard fork again.

For example do you still want to keep this feature

'The creation of new coins (block reward) decreases on a scale related to the computational effort used,  with a halving every 16x the network difficulty.'

As its been discovered if the hash rate drops too low the number of coins mints shoots through the roof which is a problem, also it means the coin is limited to always be mined by only a small number of people because if too many jump on the mint rate drops through the floor.

As the original webpage for cash is no longer available due to the Dev disappearing for those that would still like to see what was written there can via the 'way Back machine' Internet archive

Just sent the 50,000 CASH I committed to a few days ago.

There was another guy who committed to 40K I believe.

I hope a few more guys pitch in so we can get a generous fund going.

The checkpoint is used to provide extra security to the coin, this uses an external checkpoint server, when the dev abandoned this coin that stopped being updated which is why you get that error.
It will still work, but it means we have lost one extra layer of security for the coin.
I'm assuming a new checkpoint server is part of the plan if this coin is going to be saved.

That's TBD.
Checkpoints AFAIK are both a security feature and security flaw as they're meant to protect against POS attacks, but they're also a security flaw because they're centralised (think about setting complex unique passwords for every mining pool, exchange, forum, email supplier etc..... then having them all saved in a txt file in 'My Documents' as 'passwords.txt' and printed out and left on your computer desk).

I would expect we'll keep the checkpoint feature for a while until the coins are further distributed and then remove it when the coin's mature enough.
