So!
Ideas anyone?
More algos coming to the multi-pool anytime soon?
Viking coin has 5 Mill.coins only ,but almost dead though. May be interesting to pick up. Dunno.
Small Correction Viking Coin has 5,000 (5 thousand coins.) Viking is far from Dead, we are in the process of adding merged mining to Viking Coin.

I have ~.13 CLAM in an address with 8 inputs.  The most recent input has ~1000 confirmations.

Can anyone explain to me why these aren't staking?  Mainly curious.  Are the TXOUTs too small to stake for some reason?

There is a minimum balance for staking on some coins, I don't know about Clams.

But is your wallet encrypted? Staking won't occur if it has a password.
Not encrypted.  Anyone have a clue what's up here?  Is there a minimun balance required to stake?

I needz some high definition logos and such.. I would like to make some Clams-Wear.. i.e. t-shirts and such...

Also can we call the Clams Cold Wallet the 'Clam Bake'?

So now the "Clam Shell" consists of about 10 BTC in buy orders slightly above 0.001...
Everybody can relax... and get a good night's sleep.

This is great...
Because so many young coins steadily drift to zero and get delisted...
And "Clam Shell" looks to be great stabilizing solution for this.

Now we need to get some Alt Press about all features...
We have at least 3 interesting features worth writing about.

"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation."
Some thing might be wrong with my staking. My first and only was 0.11 48 hours ago. And for some reason while staking sgminer 4.1.0 crashes every so often. Crashing only started since wallet update.

What does
"Cannot open wallet dump file (code -8)"
mean when trying to importwallet multibit.key ?

How long does it take the multipool to payout?

Another coin with a similar method of distribution to CLAM launched recently - there are free distributions for Dogecoin, Bitcoin and several other coin holders too.

It's called LottoShares, and users can immediately use their funds to play the lottery!

Starting to get jealous... I can't make a fried clam Po-Boy Sandwich with only 0.1 CLAMS!

Only takes one decent block though, and you would have plenty to stake with Smiley
But honestly, 0.1 is quite a small pile - if you were in it for the long haul, it might be worth it to grab some from market and stake them.
That is something that you would have to gauge on your own of coarse, though.

The odd thing is, with staking as it is now; it is a competitive PoS.
Ergo, competing for stake is very similar to competing in Proof-Of-Work for blocks with a miner.
It is an investment in a "miner" to stake lottery blocks, as the block has a definite non-interest based reward.

Interestingly, at the moment, even a small pile staking reasonably often, the ROI figures look amazing Cheesy

Congrats!
If it was you please step forward!
It wasn't me, but that transaction does illustrate the issue I was predicting with the client.

It seems wasteful for the client to automatically split large outputs, then recombine them. It's going to keep doing that over and over.

Indeed.
You likely already know this dooglus, but for other less researched folks:

There are two things at play:
1.) If an output stakes twice too quickly, it is better for the network if there are two opportunities to stake, ensuring all blocks are accounted for and staked in a timely manner.
2.) If a pubKey controls more than one output, it makes sense to combine those two outputs when staking (under the conventional 'interest earned' model).

There are definitely a few tweaks that need to be made to the staking system.
The lottery system makes the re-combination system somewhat senseless.

I welcome anyone who has a good grasp to crawl the code.
Ideally, we want outputs to combine only if the time to staking was extraordinarily high, and outputs to split only when they stake almost immediately after maturing (signalling that these outputs were ready to stake previously but held back by maturity).

We intend to work on this ourselves, but the more the merrier Smiley

How often do you give out payouts from Kasher.com?

When it is wise to do so.
We are trying our best to minimize withdrawal fees and such as much as possible.
In addition, with low volume, we are dripping out the buys as to not push the market and buy above current price.

Thus far, it has been ~once a day.
This won't be the same for every miner - if you have a small percentage then coins granted at each stage will accrue to your balance.
Once your balance is above the threshold, you will be included in the next payment send.
Most miners seem to get above the threshold every day.

So the process is essentially:
CLAMS come into the pool wallet.
CLAMS are attributed to miners based on Pearl Payout Weight.
Miner accounts are checked for being above payout threshold.
Payments are sent to those miners.
