What is CryptoBridge?

CryptoBridge is a gateway which provides access to BitShares: a high performance, scalable blockchain. BridgeCoin (BCO) is a scrypt-compatible coin that was created in July 2017 in order to finance the development of the CryptoBridge and 50% of all trading revenue is distributed to those who stake their BCO holdings.

CryptoBridge’s orderbook and trades are decentralized and fully auditable. Trading never stops.

Full description

We provide access to established cryptocurrencies while also allowing you to discover and trade up-and-coming tokens and altcoins in a variety of different trading pairs. CryptoBridge has over 12 dedicated nodes and the network is steadily growing to ensure a lightning-quick and seamless trading experience.

CryptoBridge's target audience are altcoin traders who are weary of non-blockchain-based cryptocurrency trading platforms: riddled with performance problems, subject to thefts, manipulation, hacking incidents and government take-downs.

All deposits, withdrawals and all order books are transparently stored on the blockchain. Each client holds the private keys to their BitShares wallet.

The BitShares blockchain can process up to 100,000 transactions per second and has an average confirmation time of just 3 seconds and offers a complete API for any interested party to build applications on top of it.

Funding: No ICO - why we created an altcoin instead

To develop a platform like described above, the team chose a unique path: we created an altcoin to fund the development of a software platform: BridgeCoin.

Per the latest SEC publication it is certain that any token sale (ICO) that promises future returns can be considered illegal in the US. Though we are not from the US we would still like to stay legal under most jurisdictions and a public mineable cryptocurrency is exempt from such regulation. A fair distribution was guaranteed with the non-premined and no-ICO approach.

The founders of CryptoBridge mined BridgeCoin fairly along with anyone else who wished to. The market value of BridgeCoin was sufficient to finance the initial development of the full application. Since that time, we began to distribute 50% of all trading revenues to BridgeCoin stakers!

CryptoBridge now requires US users to submit user verification for deposit and withdrawal functionality.
