Looks like we'll be flipping back and forth with MaidSafeCoin for the time being
Those are my compatriots
as it happens and I'm very happy to have them as marketcap bedfellows. They've got their office in a sleepy little golfing town that you would not believe if you saw it. It's about as far away from a Manhattan skyscraper as you could imagine and about the most exciting thing that happens is a new ice cream flavour turning up at the local seaside cafe.
I doubt that the locals have a clue as to the mini revolution thats brewing on their doorstep.
I lived across the road from and attended the University where that project was hatched and have been quite astounded by the success they've had - though I'm not invested (should have obviously).
All in all, good company for Dash I reckon
!
I had great experiences with them too. During the ICO, I purchased coins from a BTC wallet that I later discovered was compromised (freaking Counterparty incompetence...their web wallet screwed up the R-value). I immediately emailed the lead devs and they responded right away and sent my coins to a new wallet after I signed a message with the old one. I was really impressed at how accessible they were and responsive they were.
+1 MaidSafe. A class act, and the one good thing to come out of MasterCoin.
Sorry about your Counterparty experience. I always thought they had the coolest, most noble launch ever by using proof of burn. They have had some security issues, but I've stuck with counterparty-cli + Bitcoin Core and not had any problems. Web wallets just scare me.
Maybe when the Counterparty devs get sick of dealing with taunts from Luke-Jr they will port everything over to DashParty!
Well, I have to qualify my statements about Counterparty. I should have said "freaking Counterparty bug" instead. The devs were actually super nice, and several other people had their BTC addresses compromised. They offered a full reimbursement for everybody, but as it turns out, a white hat had actually "stolen" all the BTC from the list of compromised addresses. He then returned them to everybody.
I agree about the proof of burn...very innovative and cool/classy method of issuance. I actually have a very fond place for Counterparty in my heart, since they were the first crypto that I actually made a profit on.
In January 2014 I was watching Counterparty, Emunie, and Ethereum. The fact that Emunie never launched goes to show that the perfect is the enemy of the good.
