Hi, I have a question. I have coins in my darkwallet and now we have the update. Besides doing the backup with appdata etc...is it also possible to download the new wallet just over the old wallet?

NO NO NO NO NO... STOP!!!

copy the old wallet from the dark dir over the new wallet in the dash dir

Thanks, for the tip. I didn't do anything. Afraid, I do something wrong, I want to send me DASH from my wallet to cryptsy first. So, now the wallet is mixing, but after 8 hours of mixing it says 30% completed while, my darksent balance is only 2% of the total amount of my wallet. How long is this mixing gonna take, before I can send all DASH out of the wallet?

So yes there is ideology behind this coin : privacy, liberty, freedom, try to make the world less directed by "power" and more with the heart...

I hope that changing the name will not make the ideology behind it change too, otherwhise it will failed.

There's no ideology in something that nobody uses. The ideology's in the design, not the name. Vertoe is justified in leaving over not being consulted but less so over 'ideology'.

It's not a rock song that's being built here it's electronic money.

The name can easily be compromised without any loss of principle but the functionality can't. So Evan has got his priorities right in that regard.

no.

i left because i disagree darkcoin or however it will be called next year is not a decentralized entity. it never was but i ignored it as long as darkcoin was following the same path i was following. the path to total financial privacy. and thats why i am so upset about how this currency is lead by a single person. darkcoin is like an old conservative company with strong hierarchical comamnd structures and a single person on the top of the pyramid. evan duffield. the rebranding using a detergent name was just a step forward in creating something like apple or paypal. fuck this i tell you. what we need is a trustless, decentralized and anonymous currency. darkcoin is not decentralized as it still relies on a single person. and this reaches deep into the code base.

the core devs were just a bunch of volunteers exploited for the big thing. the extended darkcoin team was the same with even a lower place to sit on that pyramid. and what was the darkcoin foundation again? right, something to reserve some rights on some names and collect money. who nominated and voted for the foundation board? who does even know who are these guys? how did we learn about the foundation? from local news papers! the team listings kept counting names of people nobody ever noticed before. and they never committed anything visible to the community or the repository. and i was spending 25 hours a day monitory everything that happened in the darkcoin community for more than a year. the things going on here are fishy, intransparent and rely on a single entity.

i will get out and and will contribute to something decentralized and anonymous. i always hoped darkcoin could fill that void. i cant blame anyone to stay with this project. you are probably investors trying to win a gold donkey. or you are simply trying to exploit every possible vector of profit in the coins space. whatever. you are not here because darkcoin is something it claims to be.

if you disagree with my statement above, i dont care, but answer that simple question: what if evan duffield suddenly announces he quits the project tomorrow morning?

good luck

wise words... +1

OK, I have another question.

I'm trying to donate from my masternodes.  I don't use start many since I only have 2, but to donate automatically, it requires using the start-many setup.

So I followed the directions here:
https://dashtalk.org/threads/reubens-start-multiple-masternodes-from-one-wallet-guide-start-many.4034/

I was able to get my local wallet to start, but not my remote

I made the suggested dash.conf and masternode.conf for my local wallet.  There was no mention of how the remote wallet should be set up, only that it didn't require a masternode.conf.  So a comment or two below, someone posted their remote wallet's dash.conf which basically looks like this:

rpcuser=Me
rpcpassword=boo
externalip=1.2.3.4:9999
masternodeprivkey=XXXXXXXXXXXXX
masternode=1

Is that indeed all I need for my remote dash.conf file?  Why doesn't it work?  Thanks for any help!!!

Thanks anyway, I got help on the Dashtalk.org forum Smiley

Question???

When you look at the market depth chart, are they showing everything that's on that particular exchanges books?  Or a section of it up to a point?  Thanks in advance Smiley  I'm just trying to understand better ;P

My depth chart at http://www.cambiouno.com/dash is built from the first 100 levels of the order book on both the bid and ask side.

Ok, thank you Smiley  So I guess it matters how they're set up?  Smiley

Seems like with the new version, there couldn't be run more than one Masternode from one VM (Even if the VM has more than one IP)

This was working with the older versions, now there is an error if you try to start the second dashd like: " Unable to bind to xx.xx.xx.xx:9999 on this computer (bind returned error Cannot assign requested address".

Can anyone point me to the announce of this (i guess this is intended for more power/decentralisation) or is there a fix / workaround for it - if not intended?

Thanks

You can also setup a cron
to reboot your MN if the server resets

cd /etc/cron.d

crontab -e
2 (for nano)
at bottom of newly created file, insert:

@reboot /usr/bin/dashd           [to start masternode  (or wherever you keep your daemon)]
You might as well add this line as well

Code:
*/20 * * * * /usr/bin/dashd

It will try to restart the daemon every 20 minutes in case the server hasn't rebooted, but has experienced a network outage longer than the masternode "keep alive".  It doesn't do any harm if dashd is already running.

I have a question about a MN. I recently created a new vps and set up a MN on it. It will start and run and when I grep my IP I get "ENABLED." After a while I will check if it's running, I greped my IP and it said "xxx.xx.xxx.xxx:9999" : "EXPIRED" once. I tried to grep it again right away and then nothing happened. I started the MN from my wallet and right away it was enabled when I greped it in the vps. It has stopped itself twice now. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Daemons have been locking up. Evan is working on it.
Okay, thanks.

All my MN updated without problem...

InstantX is a killer: I took the oportunity while making my "masternode start", to send to my main wallet the MN payments, and I used InstantX, the time to make my "masternode start "xxxx"", the dash were sent and approved!
Just wow, all worked just fine!

If it can be of any use here my script to update from darkcoin (can be copy/paste directly in putty) :

wget https://www.dashpay.io/binaries/dash-0.11.2.16-linux.tar.gz --no-check-certificate
tar zxvf  dash-0.11.2.16-linux.tar.gz
cp dash-0.11.2.16-linux/bin/64/dashd .
./darkcoind stop
sleep 10
rm darkcoind
mv .darkcoin .dash
mv .dash/darkcoin.conf .dash/dash.conf
rm .dash/peers.dat
./dashd

EDIT : And just received a 2.3 payment 8min ago (nice improvment from elbereth site https://dashninja.pl : if you use his site don't forget to tip him!!! Edit : long time I didn't tip you : tip sent!).

rebranding ffailed ... selll all my dash , and move on

LOLOLOLOL, someone was expecting to make 5000% maybe?

The positive aspect of the name change will slowly pay off fully in time. My goodness on your thoughts, or are you just trying to buy in cheap?

Not to mention that since the rebranding to DASH was made official on March 15 the price is up about 70%.

Nice! Looks like the only crypto news place that has not reported on the rebranding is coindesk, How embarrassing for them.

Did mastternoes drop in number by 600-700? Weren't there like 2300 a while ago?

No, the network is just updating.

This latest version has a bump in the protocol, so the counts will be off until everybody updates.
