11.2 - The Dash Release - Mandatory Update!

https://dashtalk.org/threads/11-2-dash-release.4515/

This looks to me like the start of the decentralised quality minimums technology starting to appear.

This is *proper* decentralisation folks - functional diversification. Not B.S. reproducing the same mono-dimensional robot operation a million times (thats called redundancy). The first ever cryptocurrency network that is going to check itself for quality and performance standards on an ongoing basis.

This is what flight computers do. In an airliner there's 5 of them that constantly monitor each other and shut down the odd one out if its misbehaving. I know cryptos do that with the blockchain length but - duh, there's more to a cryptocurrency network than measuring the longest chain.

In the future I imagine this network will be able to self regulate its standards for everything - CPU speed, memory, bandwidth, you name it. Another reason why this project is taking leads (possible because the dev "sticks to his vision", and prefers lines of code to lines of bitcointalk posts  Wink )

Enjoy !

Hey guys,
If i have a backuped darkcoin wallet.dat on usb, do I have to download a new dash wallet and sync my old wallet.dat?

The blockchain data is the same as Darkcoin's, as is the addresses and everything else for that matter. If you already have a Darkcoin's blockchain, rename the datadir from darkcoin to dash, your darkcoin.conf to dash.conf and replace the wallet.dat with your darkcoin one and you're good to go. Since this is a new mandatory version upgrade, I'd suggest removing peers.dat before launching the client.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
vertoe is very professional and adult.

Interesting you say that. Judge by your spam youself seem to be the very oposite of what you attribute to vertoe.
Seriously what's your issue? An extrem deficite in attention? Bored as hell?

You are not the first trolling here and you will not be the last and you are not even original just boring and sad to watch.
Don't wast your time. It will not come back.

His only motivation is money. He is advertising his coin in the market leader's thread for maximum exposure.

OK you're right.  Send me 1000 coins and I'll leave all Darkcoin threads forever and change my sig back to XMR.

If you want me to ignore this scam, it'll cost you.  I want in.

I actually like Darkcoin and have just been trying to drive the price down.

Please let me join the Cult of the Gold Donkey!

If I make a new masternode can I use the same rcpuser, rpcpass, and masternodeprivkey? Also, can I just delete my old vps?

If the masternodeprivkey isn't used by another one of your nodes, sure. And yes, you can delete your old vps and use the same setup on a new instance elsewhere.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
I don't see the issue there. Every coins here depend on a dev or a dev team. So what ? You can check the source at each release, and even during the testing phases. Are you also that vocal on the Monero thread ?

I tend to agree with vertoe's opinion over yours, since he was in a position to know exactly how irreplaceable Duffman is to Dark.  You are just a spectator with some vague uneducated opinion biased by your bagholding.

Why would I complain about Monero's bus number?

That project has a critical mass of devs and the ecosystem is blossoming.  Unlike THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC., there is no One Dude who is the dictator.

I asked the same question on Dashtalk but it seems there are more people here - so you guys that are on both forums, forgive the redudancy>

My new Dash wallet installer placed it into Program Files / Dash. Alas, when I run it, all associated files - including but not limited to wallet.dat | peers.dat | database folder | db.log | blocks folder | chainstate folder | dash.conf appear on Desktop?

Just be noted that this question was supported in https://dashtalk.org/threads/11-2-dash-release.4515/page-3#post-49155 , Thanks.

what if evan duffield suddenly announces he quits the project tomorrow morning?

The project is open source, and I'm sure there are many brilliant minds within the community ready to take over if need be (including the current devs).

But off course like any good troll you only quote what suits you  Smiley

I'll take vertoe's word over yours, since he was in a position to know how replaceable Duffman is to Dark.

The rebranding made it clear there is no fundamental tech or branding.  It all changes on One Dude's whims.

Darkcoin is whatever Evan does.  That's why vertoe left and nobody will replace him, much less Evan.  Bus Factor = 1.

vertoe is very professional and adult.

A "professional adult" who's nose is out of joint at discovering the project has a dev wants to stick with his vision.

this currency is lead by a single person

Thank f*ck its lead by someone.

darkcoin is not decentralized as it still relies on a single person.

I can’t think of an revolutionary technology that didn't.

with strong hierarchical comamnd structures

Well I can see why Icebreaker takes issue with this one since he prefers projects that have as much life in them as a 3 week old sheep carcass. All the same, for devs that prefer to write 1000 lines of code to 1000 lines of nonsense on bitcointalk, it’s kind of important  Wink
