Dude can you stop with that already, that is different, there are a million things called Dash already, ISIS means nothing else, other than the egyptian goddess.

In that sense, it is not a problem

Plus, it's not even sure yet if the name sticks (in a majority of languages). And also, how will long the "IS" will be around in its current incarnation? AFAIK they formed out of the remnants of Al Quaida in Iraq, changed their name a couple of times (ISIL, ISIS...) and merged with other groups. Plus, they are really really crazy. Who can say how they will call themselves (and be called by others) tomorrow?

If DASH offens ISIS - this is GREAT! they wont use it! Screw ISIS!  We wont have any associations as ISIS friendly currency!

Yeah, is an insult to them, they say they will cut the tongue of anyone who called them that, so they most definitely wont use it. That is a really good point.  I think with the first video of someone getting their tongue cut, the term will die. Lol, I am sure I am not calling them that. And Kerry pronounced it wrong is more  like Da'ish

I think it is unavoidable that some people will be happy and some won't regarding anything.  The idea of re-branding Darkcoin has quite clearly proven this. It's been an ongoing debate for a very long time here in this thread. Myself, I don't mind the Darkcoin brand. But I've felt for a long time it would hinder widespread adoption. So yeah, I support this re-branding idea. I know DASH was a name that was brought up quite awhile ago. I liked it instantly. I'd vote for it now if the community was given the opportunity to do so. Ultimately there are higher powers in control and I believe they have nothing but the highest level of success in mind for this crypto-currency. To that end, the brand, the name, the logo, will all be decided by them.  I hope they go with DASH, certainly I'd love if they went with my logo design. If they choose to bring in big name branding and marketing people, I'm good with that too, because while I know a bit about it, there are many that know more.

Here's something I know for a fact. This crypto-currency is being developed by some brilliant people. I have no doubt, they will go the best direction regarding branding.

DASH is the future of crypto payments!
Thanks to everyone that +1'd my logo.

Here's a bit of an improvement, including what I think would be a good slogan.

Here. I actually took a few minutes to clean it up and do it in Illustrator rather than my quickie earlier version.

Love it!

Yep I like this too.

I'm still not 'in love' with 'dash' but it's growing on me and i think it will work as a name in the marketplace so until an official decision is made by Evan and the dev team can we stop the dash-bashing an move forwards?!

The official arabic name is DAESH, it's what we hear here in Europe (and what should become the common acronym for this "state").

it spells out the acronym of the group’s full Arabic name, al-Dawla al-Islamiya fi al-Iraq wa al-Sham.

Guys,

Producing a professional logo is not a problem, have a look:

Don't waste your time now.

Now it is enough to grasp that "DASH" is easy and neutral enough to form anything we need. Later.

Yet, at the same time, “Daesh” can also be understood as a play on words — and an insult. Depending on how it is conjugated in Arabic, it can mean anything from “to trample down and crush” to “a bigot who imposes his view on others.” Already, the group has reportedly threatened to cut out the tongues of anyone who uses the term.

In principle, it's quite nice, but I think the font and/or the color can still be improved. It looks a bit too "computer-y" for my taste, but maybe that's because it reminds me of the logo here: http://www.conrad.de
